Bravos Sire
Did you know? The stallion *Aramus was loved by many for his extraordinary beauty, and athletic ability. *Aramus was born in 1962. He was bred by the Michalow State Stud in Poland. His sire was the great stallion Nabor, and he was out of the mare Amneris, by the fabulous Polish stallion Amurath-Sahib. In 1967, Lloyd and Evelyn Burton and Bill and Janet Lowe purchased and imported *Aramus to the United States. Two years later, in 1969, the young superstar entertainer, Wayne Newton joined the partnership and became a co-owner. The following year, *Aramus was crowned 1970 U.S. National Champion Stallion in Oklahoma City. He is shown here with his owners and handler celebrating their victory. In 1972, Wayne Newton purchased full ownership of *Aramus and took him to Las Vegas, Nevada, where Wayne had built a palatial farm, which he named for his beloved stallion. Even today, it is known as Wayne Newton's Aramus Arabians. Years later, many of Wayne's prized horses are related to *Aramus. Throughout his lifetime, American breeders loved *Aramus' extraordinary beauty and he became a very popular sire. He produced 304 sons and daughters and 3213 grandget. His influence can still be seen in his offspring and descendants which are very successful show horses and champion producers - proving that the classic beauty of the Arabian horse truly is timeless. The Al-Marah Arabian Horse Galleries are dedicated to preserving and sharing Arabian horse history with the world.
