BUILDING UPDATE, PLEASE READ!
Our amazing Blossom & Bone clients,
If you have been to our shop lately, you may have noticed an official building notice posted on our window. (Or that it’s hot in here.) We want to be completely transparent with you about what is going on behind the scenes. The last three months in business, we have experienced more mechanical, plumbing and overall building issues than I have ever experienced over the course of many years renting other commercial spaces.
Recently, I requested a Springfield City Building Inspector to evaluate the property due to having so many issues only 3 months into business. The city officially ruled that the severe building challenges we’ve been dealing with (including previous plumbing issues and our current lack of air conditioning) are entirely the property owner's legal responsibility under municipal code. Regardless of Triple Net. The notice on our window is a formal demand from the city requiring him to fix these issues immediately or lose his legal right to rent out this commercial space.
Because the owner/previous owner(s) have allowed this property to sit without proper maintenance or safety inspections for MANY years (on record) we are working to retain legal representation to address this unsafe environment and what options we have.
But here is what we want you to know above all else: BLOSSOM & BONE IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE. Whether we stay right here once the court forces his violations to be fixed, or whether we move to a gorgeous new location in town, our doors will stay OPEN.
This brings me personally to the most important part of my business: our team. I am blessed with a group of incredibly talented professionals to share this space with. Their fierce loyalty, their dedication to our clients, and their unwavering belief in the Blossom and Bone dream (no matter where our building stands) is something I will never take for granted. I want to publicly thank the team for standing strong together through 95-degree heat and constant building disasters. They are the true heart of this shop and the shop is nothing without them.
We are still conducting business as normal as long as our team can work comfortably, and we’ve taken as many active steps as we can to counteract the discomfort for your appointments while we wait on a permanent solution. Thank you for your incredible patience, your kindness, and for supporting our local gay, alt, neurodivergent business. Blossom and Bone has never looked brighter going forward.
With so much gratitude,
Salem and The Blossom & Bone Team

Did you know?
Our texturizing salt spray has a few purposes. It works wonders on curls, and thinner hair when used properly.
And I love to know the "why's".. so let me share!
All of these facts on the image all have a common denominator - you guessed it!
Salt, or Sodium.
As the spray coats individual strands as its misted on, the sodium does two main things.
▪︎▪︎
One.
Sodium (or Sodium Chloride) is hygroscopic. This means it absorbs moisture from its surroundings, including the moisture on your hair. This allows your hair to dry out enough to create a matte finish - as dryer hair lacks that stark shine oils have. This also allows the hair to be more firm as a result, with the help of the clinging salt crystals.
Two.
The sodium's molecules cause the cuticle (iuter layer of a hair strand) to expand - which is what provides a more full appearance to the hair, holding more volume and shape. This aswell separates the hair just enough in its expansion, to allow the hairs natural curl and wave to show off and space themselves out!
It doesn't make your hair more curly.. just allows your hair to hold its natural body better.
This occurs because sodium is more alkaline in nature. Higher alkalinity causes hair to swell and expand, as it raises the hairs natural pH level.
-> Fun fact ! This, though on a higher scale, is actually the process needed to start perming hair!
▪︎▪︎
Very cool! However, while it has its charm, it is a double edge sword when used carelessly.
My long haired sea salt spray lovers, you may notice your hair on the top of your head having some breakage, or your curls feeling dry and struggle holding life and shape naturally. This may be a part of why. Improper/Over use can cause brittle, dry, breaking, thinning of hair and even cause hair dye to fade quicker.
Come see me so I can help you to properly care for your particular hair, rehydrate your lucious curls, and let me teach you how to pamper your mane. 🦁
Now tell me, did you know that?

Welcome !
I'm Vic, aka RevicWorks.
Need an introduction?
☆~ I'm 24
☆~ 417 located Barber-Stylist Student
☆~ Originally from California
I've been cutting hair on myself and friends since the start of covid, and with a loving push from the wonderful North Star Esthetics, I am now studying hair in a proper setting.
I crave to "do it all!"
Every type of hair I can learn, I want to master it.
Every walk of life, I want to understand more.
And every question I have or receive I want to know the answer to.
I am very alternative and q***r friendly, but nearly no matter where you come from, I always aim for you to either doze off.. or be laughing at least one time when in my chair !
It's been quite a packed few months, since starting.
☆ I volunteered for the schools annual fashion show as a model and helped formulate my costume with a senior Cosmo student Kell (We won best costume of the night!) early into enrollment.
☆ I found myself wanting to perfect everything I can and studying the science behind everything (to the point I am joked as someone who will often ask a pretty interesting question.. that people need to go research the answer to lol)
☆ Made friends in almost every department, and learn everything I can from everyone I meet.
☆ Am currently still working on a tattoo portfolio I will eventually showcase as it progresses more and more. The post holds a peek at some practice !
I settled on the shortened name Revic, because it not only has my personal name but a reference to a sentiment of rebirth.
It stuck out to me, because my mission statement is as such, and it wraps up who I am pretty blatantly.
🖌
"I want to bring a sense of confidence,
acceptance, care and love to those
who forgot what its like to feel that
for themselves. I want to be a stylist
that helps people express, and to
fall in love who they truly are."

If you have one, comment what your mission statement is, I really want to know for my student friends & anyone else !
And whether you are a provider or a client.. tell me what type of person you want to be taking care of your image ✨️
