My ears are bleeding!

Today, we take a moment to pause, reflect, and remember the lives lost 25 years ago on September 11, 2001.

We honor the incredible courage of the first responders who ran toward danger without hesitation, and the resilience of the communities that came together in the days that followed.

Just 25 minutes into the ride, I found myself lying on the side of a West Virginia road, moving my fingers and toes and telling myself I was alright.

I had no idea what was yet to come.

Minutes earlier, I'd been riding my brand-new BMW R 1300 RS through the mountains with a group of people I had just met. The RS was in Dynamic Pro ride mode, the road was full of switchbacks, and everything was going exactly as it should.

Then a small deer burst out of the bushes.

And just like that, my weekend, my summer, and maybe something much more important, changed.
