They also monitor systems in order to detect when something might be wrong: everything from a fuel cap not being secured correctly or a solenoid going bad in your transmission. Knowing the difference between those lights can be tricky and sometimes frustrating. All those black lines are wires wrapping the engine like an octopus. This is becoming more and more common on newer vehicles. Which means, our techs have to be electricians And computer programmers to get a vehicle properly diagnosed.
