Native to Ohio, pawpaws grow on small trees and produce a soft, custard-like fruit with a tropical flavor often compared to banana and mango. September is pawpaw season here in Ohio, so you may start seeing these unique fruits popping up at local markets and farms. 🌳

Ohio officially recognized the pawpaw as its state native fruit in 2009. So if you've never tried one, September is a pretty great time to change that! 👀
