Active Body Physical Therapy

Active Body Physical Therapy

Look what I came across as I unpacked my last box today 😃
It's so cold outside my joints are aching -- I think a CVAC session will help with the pain.. I hope there is room for some sessions this week.
We are in our third month of our CVAC System trial period at ACTIVE BODY Physical Therapy and Wellness in Springfield, VA!

This is an awesome experience! I have been running CVAC sessions for people since August and every single person who has experienced a CVAC session here has shared wonderful feedback.

It is a great pleasure working with the staff of CVAC Systems. They are available to answer my questions and to support me in making this a successful venture.

My own benefit to having a CVAC System so accessible to me has been truly life changing! First, being able to help not only myself but others too has helped me feel a sense of purpose. When someone tells me they have less pain or that they have better feeling in their feet or can climb steps for the first time in a long time, I am so happy to have played a role in bringing this technology closer to them!

My own body continues to improve tremendously to the point that my endocrinologist was stunned at the drastic positive changes in my latest labs compared to the last few years. My cholesterol levels are normal; A1C level dropped; I've had some weight reduction; am taking less medication; am sleeping better and have worlds more stamina. I have made other changes to my routine as well which have helped but it is clear from my data collection that regular use of the CVAC System has been a major contributor to positive shifts in my body.

The CVAC System is here on a trial basis. I still need to develop this into an ongoing viable business model so we can afford to bring a CVAC System here on a permanent basis. For now, session fees are applied to operation costs such as utilities, and administrative necessities. I am so grateful to Kari Allen Dixon, owner of Active Body PT and Wellness, for offering her space so we could launch this trial.

You can help us keep this technology accessible to people in this area by coming to try the CVAC system for yourself and spreading the word to others. The first session is complimentary. We offer affordable session fees and package deals.

The CVAC System is for everyone! Whether your body is deconditioned or you are an experienced athlete, you will feel benefits from the CVAC System.

We hope to see you soon!!
I am overwhelmed with joy to announce that a CVAC Pod is coming to Northern Virginia!!!

I have been in negotiations with CVAC Systems for many months discussing how we can work together to bring this technology to this area. We finally reached an agreement yesterday for a six to eight month trial period of the Pod here in Northern VA! I am so happy that this technology will be available to anyone who wishes to use it. I am looking forward to appreciating the benefits I will receive from using the Pod on a regular basis.

I am extremely grateful to Kari Dixon, owner of Active Body Physical Therapy and Wellness, for her willingness to host space for the Pod and to work with me on making the Pod accessible to others. Kari is an amazing healer who has provided me with exemplary care for many years. She has helped me remain hopeful that this would all happen! She is truly a blessing in my life.

I am also incredibly grateful to all the wonderful people who made contributions to the Go Fund Me campaign. These funds, along with personal funds, will be used to cover shipping the Pod as well as other associated start up costs.

There are no adequate words to express my heartfelt gratitude to friends and family who provided support, donations, and encouragement to me and who spread the word of my Go Fund Me campaign.

My wish all along has been to bring an option closer to home that will offer pain relief and improved health to others and me who suffer with chronic illness which is difficult to manage with conventional methods.

We are targeting delivery of the Pod to occur in early August and I will continue working on a plan for next steps that will help us keep a Pod accessible long term.

Stay tuned for news on the official start up!! This is an exciting time!

Active Body Physical Therapy & Wellness now offers Telehealth Visits!

As a result of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), some patients have been unable to attend regularly scheduled physical therapy appointments. Pain doesn’t stop because of a pandemic. In an effort to continue to treat patients experiencing existing or new musculoskeletal pain, Active Body Physical Therapy & Wellness has instituted Telehealth Physical Therapy services.

What is Telehealth?
Telehealth is a way to connect with your physical therapist virtually over the internet through a two-way video conference between the patient and therapist. As a patient, you can receive expert advice in the comfort and security of your own home. During our Telehealth visit, you will be treated by a highly trained, licensed Physical Therapist remotely. No travel to the clinic, no unnecessary exposure to the elements, and no extra time taken out of your day.

One of our physical therapists will work one-on-one with each patient via video-conferencing platforms like Zoom, to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal ailments. Things that we can continue to help patients with:
• Help patients interpret and understand symptoms.
• Give patient’s guidance to improve the healing response.
• Issue, review and update home exercises programs.
• Help patient problem solve activities that continue to cause pain.
Recognizing injuries and pain do not dissipate during an international pandemic, Active Body Physical Therapy & Wellness is committed to meeting the needs of its patients while abiding by important public health recommendations and mandates. Our Therapists are delighted to offer this innovative service to help patients of all ages achieve optimal physical function.

The Clinic is Open!
The health and well-being of our patients and staff has always been our first priority.
We have taken an “all hands” approach to making sure our clinic is clean and safe for staff and patients. We have been diligent in our hand washing, equipment cleaning, adjusting our schedules and appointments to minimize unnecessary close contact. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 virus continues to spread in our communities. While we have not had any incidences in clinic to date, understandably, social distancing should remain a priority for everyone. Our clinics will remain open on a limited basis for those requiring in person physical therapy care. 02/20/2020
