I wish I had understood this about my body 10 years agoā¦
I thought being healthy meant pushing harder.
More workouts.
More cardio.
More restriction.
More discipline.
Push through the exhaustion and just keep going.
I was really good at grinding it out.
Until my body started telling me it didnāt want to live that way anymore.
Menopause changed the conversation.
I started realizing that poor sleep mattered. Stress mattered. Recovery mattered. Alcohol affected me differently. And eating less and exercising more wasnāt necessarily the answer anymore.
So I made a shift.
I stopped fighting my body and started listening to it.
I prioritize sleep and recovery instead of feeling guilty for needing them.
I manage stress because I know my health depends on more than what happens in the gym.
I rarely drink alcohol because Iāve learned that what feels good for a few hours often doesnāt feel good in my body afterward.
I drink my water.
I prioritize protein.
I strength train because at this stage of life, maintaining muscle isnāt just about how I lookāitās about how I want to live and age.
And Iāve chosen to utilize hormone replacement therapy and physician-guided metabolic tools as part of my overall health strategy.
The goal isnāt to find a shortcut.
The goal is to give my body the support it needs in this season of life.
And maybe thatās the biggest lesson Iāve learned:
You canāt keep handing your changing body an old blueprint and then blame yourself when it stops working.
Sometimes the answer isnāt more discipline.
Itās more understanding.
More recovery.
More nourishment.
More muscle.
More support.
And a completely different approach to what being āhealthyā actually looks like.
At 58, Iām not interested in grinding my body down just to make it smaller.
I want to build a body that carries me into the next chapter strong, healthy, energized and feeling better than I can remember.
Thatās the shift.

I almost didnāt post this.
Three years ago today, I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life: to end my marriage.
After two very difficult years, I came to the realization that I could no longer stay in a situation that was affecting me financially, emotionally, and physically. The level of stress I was living under had become so intense that I knew I was putting my health at risk.
I was being blamed for everything that was wrong in my marriage, and eventually I had to accept a painful truth: I could not fix a situation I didnāt create, especially when the real issues could never be honestly addressed.
My only option was to walk awayāeven if it meant losing everything.
And when I say everything, I mean everything.
There was a small window of opportunity for me to get out, and I took it. I chose to take my life back.
Here I am three years laterāwiser, stronger, happier, and definitely healthier.
Was it easy? Absolutely not.
How did I do it?
One day at a time.
With the help of God, some truly incredible people, and a whole lot of faith. I had spent years living in fear, so learning to walk by faith instead of fear didnāt happen overnight. I had to rebuild my life and, in many ways, rebuild myself.
But I did.
One day at a time.
One decision at a time.
One prayer at a time.
And looking back now, I realize there was something even more important than everything I lost:
I found myself again.
Sometimes we stay in a relationship, a job, or even a friendship far longer than we should because weāre afraid of what we might lose if we leave. But sometimes staying is costing us far moreāour peace, our health, our joy, and the person we were created to be.
The lesson Iāve learned is this: Losing everything is not always the end of your story. Sometimes itās the beginning of getting your life back.
Three years later, I can finally say that choosing myself, my health, my peace, and my future was worth it.
And above all, God was with me through every single step. ā¤ļøš

What I Would Tell My Younger Self⦠Now That Iām 58
If I could sit down with my younger self, I wouldnāt tell her to eat less.
I wouldnāt tell her to exercise harder.
And I definitely wouldnāt tell her that getting older means accepting weight gain, exhaustion, poor sleep, or feeling uncomfortable in her own body.
Iād tell her this:
Your body is going to change ā and the way you care for it needs to change too.
At 58 and in menopause, I understand my body in a way I never did when I was younger.
I use HRT as part of my personal menopause care.
I prioritize strength training because muscle matters more than ever.
I eat enough protein instead of trying to survive on tiny portions.
I pay attention to sleep, stress, recovery, blood sugar, movement, and the habits that support my metabolism.
And I use metabolic and menopause reset tools to help me understand what my body is asking for instead of constantly fighting against it.
But maybe the biggest lesson Iād give my younger self is this:
Stop measuring your health by how little you can eat and how much exercise you can tolerate.
More isnāt always better.
Less food isnāt always the answer.
And exhaustion isnāt proof that youāre working hard enough.
Midlife has taught me to work with my body instead of punishing it into submission.
Iām 58.
Iām in menopause.
Iām still learning.
Iām still getting stronger.
And Iām far more interested in building a strong, energized, healthy body for the next 30 years than trying to get back the body I had at 30.
Because maybe the goal was never to get our younger bodies back.
Maybe the goal is to build the strongest version of the women we are now. šŖš¼
If youāre navigating menopause and feel like everything that used to work suddenly stopped working, youāre not alone.
Comment RESET and Iāll share more about the strategies Iām using in this season of life.

For years, I thought I just needed to work harder.
I was strength training.
Hitting my protein goals.
Walking every day.
Showing up consistently.
But my body had changed.
The weight around my midsection wouldnāt budge. I felt puffy. Inflamed. My energy wasnāt the same. Even though I was doing many of the ārightā things, my results no longer matched my effort.
Then I learned something that changed everything.
During perimenopause and menopause, hormonal changes can affect insulin sensitivity, recovery, inflammation, and how our bodies use energy. Sometimes itās not about doing moreāitās about using a different playbook.
Instead of starting over, I made one strategic change and committed to giving my body time to respond.
Over the following months, I lost 30 pounds, my inflammation improved, my A1C returned to a healthy range, and I finally felt like myself again.
If youāre thinking, āWhy isnāt my body responding anymore?ā youāre not alone.
Thatās exactly why I created my free menopause guide.
Comment HOT SHIFT and Iāll send it to you.

The life I thought I wanted wasnāt the life that was waiting for me.
Being in NYC reminded me of who I used to be ā the dreams I had, the plans I made, the version of life I once thought would make me happy.
Thereās something about that city that makes you reflect. The pace, the lights, the noise, the possibilities ā it all brought back memories of the life I imagined for myself.
But as I walked through New York, I realized something beautiful: I donāt miss the life I thought I wanted. Iām grateful for the life I have now.
It may not look exactly like what I once pictured, but it has given me peace, purpose, love, growth, and a deeper appreciation for the journey. Sometimes God redirects us not to disappoint us, but to lead us to something better than we could have planned for ourselves.
NYC was a reminder that dreams can change, people can grow, and the life waiting for you can be even more meaningful than the one you thought you lost.
Grateful for the visit. Even more grateful for the life I get to come home to. š¤

The Writing Was on the Wall in My 40s⦠But I Was in DENIAL.
Menopause didnāt suddenly show up one day and change everything.
The clues were there long before.
In my 40s, alcohol started affecting me differently.
My sleep suffered.
Recovery took longer.
I felt more inflamed.
My energy didnāt bounce back the same.
But I ignored it.
I blamed stress.
I blamed being busy.
I blamed getting older.
Now at 58, I realize my body was trying to get my attention.
For me, alcohol isnāt about the calories.
Itās about the sleep.
The recovery.
The brain fog.
The way I feel the next day.
These days, Iām much more intentional because feeling energized, clear-headed, and strong matters more to me.
Menopause didnāt ruin the party.
It changed the invitation.
The lesson?
Pay attention to the whispers before your body starts shouting.

ā Behind the Scenesā¦
Most people think I spend my days writing workouts and meal plans.
While thatās certainly part of what I do, some of my most important work happens sitting right here at my computer having conversations with women.
Women who are frustrated because the strategies that worked for decades suddenly stopped working.
Women who are eating healthy, exercising, and doing āall the right thingsā but still struggling with weight gain, fatigue, poor sleep, brain fog, and a body they no longer recognize.
One of my favorite parts of coaching is helping women connect the dots.
Not because theyāre doing something wrong.
But because their bodies have changed.
Together, we look at their symptoms, lifestyle, stress load, sleep habits, recovery, nutrition, exercise routines, and goals to uncover what is really getting in the way.
Most women donāt need more discipline.
They need a different strategy.
A strategy that works with their changing hormones, metabolism, nervous system, and lifestyle.
Every conversation reminds me that so many women are silently struggling, believing theyāre failing when in reality theyāre simply trying to use an old playbook for a new season of life.
Helping them find a path forward is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
And honestly, itās why I love this work so much. ā¤ļø

Teaching Moment Tuesday: Your 5-Minute Stress Reset
Most women think they need more motivation. š„
What they actually need is a calmer nervous system.
If you're constantly feeling:
⢠exhausted
⢠overwhelmed
⢠craving sugar
⢠struggling to sleep
⢠feeling stuck
Your body may be spending too much time in stress mode.
Here's a simple technique I teach my clients:
š« Take 5 slow breaths.
Inhale through your nose for 4 counts.
Hold for 2 counts.
Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 counts.
Repeat 5 times.
That's it.
This simple practice helps:
⨠Lower stress
⨠Improve focus
⨠Reduce feelings of
overwhelm
⨠Support nervous system
regulation
For many women in midlife, wellness isn't about doing more - been there done that one!
It's about creating moments that allow your body to feel safe enough to recover.
Today's challenge:
Before your nextā¦
meeting, š call, šļøāāļø workout, or meal...
Take 5 SLOW breaths.
Notice how you feel afterward.
Small habits create big shifts.
What's one thing you do to reduce stress during your day?
06/08/2026
At one point in my life, I weighed 230 pounds.
Iāve taken diet pills.
Starved myself.
Over-exercised.
Under-ate.
Drank my way through stress.
Obsessed over the scale.
For years, I thought the answer was more discipline.
It wasnāt.
The biggest shift happened when I stopped punishing my body and started understanding it.
At 58, Iām healthier, stronger, and more energized than Iāve been in decades.
Not because I found a magic solution.
Because I learned a different playbook.
One built on strength, nutrition, recovery, mindset, and consistency.
The lesson?
Your body isnāt the enemy.
Itās trying to tell you something.
And when you learn to listen, everything changes.
