2025 marked 10 years since I graduated high school—and what a ride it’s been. In that time, I worked construction, worked at a camera store, freelanced photography and video, and saw my art hanged in galleries. I got to paint murals alongside heroes who are now friends. I got a dog, a questionable tattoo, and watched my grandparents pass. I got skinny, swole, then thick 😏. I stepped into politics and found a job I love.
But nothing—and I mean nothing—hit like these past (almost) four years.
I had a stroke. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever faced. It took everything I had—and then some. But with the people who had my back, I rose to the occasion. I’m endlessly grateful. A million times over: thank you.

When I moved back to DC in 2024, I finally met other young survivors—like Amin, who’s fought the same battles, hour by hour. We talked about pain, depression, healing, faith, friends, family—everything. How our bodies have held their own and the parts of us we STILL have to heal. We came up with the idea of trying to share those conversations through a limited podcast series: .
It’s a space for stroke survivors, those healing from brain injuries or paralysis, and anyone who loves someone on that journey. This is for you.
