šØ THINK THE NEEDLE IS THE MOST DANGEROUS PART OF PERMANENT EYELINER? THINK AGAIN.
My #1 job when tattooing your eyeliner is protecting your eyeball. Period. šļø
The real concern is preventing pigment, numbing product, or debris from remaining in the eye and irritating or scratching the cornea.
Thatās why I use prescription 20% lidocaine for comfort, lubricating drops before/during/after, careful eyelid manipulation, minimal wiping, and thorough rinsing and inspection beneath BOTH upper and lower lids before you leave.
Your job is simple:
āKeep your eyes closed unless I tell you to open them.ā
If your eye becomes irritated or you cannot safely follow instructions, I reserve the right to STOP the service.
For first-time eyeliner clients, I often recommend starting with an eyelash enhancement before committing to a more elaborate design.
In my experience, arnica, adequate nutrition, hydration, and chia seeds can support a more comfortable healing process. I also recommend avoiding excess sugar and alcohol before your appointment.
If you take aspirin, fish oil/omega-3, flaxseed, ginkgo, garlic supplements, or anything affecting bleeding, talk to your doctor before changing anything.
Permanent eyeliner is permanent. Choose an artist who understands eye anatomy, safety, technique, healingāand when NOT to tattoo.
Safety is the most important part of eyeliner. Protecting your eye is my #1 job. Period.
šØ MICROBLADING ARTISTS: THIS ONE IS FOR YOU.
I know itās controversial, but Iām a show-me girl from Missouri. Seeing is believing. After years of working with brows and seeing healed results, I believe microblading is an obsolete technique for modern permanent cosmetics.
And yes⦠my business is literally called Microblading by Autumn. š
I was GOOD at microblading. We all started somewhere. But about four years ago, I transitioned to advanced machine techniquesāand Iāve never looked back.
Why?
Microblading splices the skin to create hair strokes. Repeated trauma can create unnecessary scar tissue. Iāve worked on transfer clients with permanent hair-stroke scarring, fibrosis, pigment buildup, and significant resistance in the skin.
The skin does not lie.
Advanced machine techniques work differently. With proper techniqueāPRESSURE, depth, needle configuration, spacing, and saturationāwe can create delicate Nano hair strokes while respecting the skin.
And PIGMENT MATTERS.
Artists should know exactly what theyāre implanting. Look at the Color Index (CI) numbers and ingredients. Understand the difference between iron oxides, carbon black, titanium dioxide, and other componentsāand how they are designed to age.
For repeated brow procedures, I prefer transitioning toward iron-oxide-based pigments rather than continually layering carbon-containing pigment into the same area.
I love LI Pigments (Lasting Impressions) for Powder Brows and Milada Nano Pigments for Nano work.
My goal isnāt the darkest brow possible.
Itās soft, believable, beautiful brows while respecting the skin.
I can often feel the difference when working on repeat clients versus transfer clients with multiple saturated procedures:
Soft, pliable skin vs. resistance, fibrosis, and scar tissue.
Fresh brows can look beautiful.
HEALED BROWS tell the real story.
So yes, Iām still Microblading by Autumn.
But my artistry has evolved far beyond microblading.
The skin does not lie, yāall. ā¤ļø
⨠WHO IS AUTUMN WIND SHARP? āØ
Iām not just a tattoo artist. Iām a mom, artist, entrepreneur, lifelong student, philosopher of lifeāand honestly, Iām just really curious about this wild thing we call LIFE. šā¤ļø
Iāve been obsessed with paramedical and cosmetic tattooing for six years. Iāve trained with world masters, invested countless hours into my craft, and worked hard to become the artist I want to be. Iām finally at a place where I can look at my art and say, āYes. THIS is what Iāve been working toward.ā šØ
But thereās more to me than tattooing.
I love to learn, read, cook, travel, create, explore, and experience life from different perspectives. I love healthy foodāand recipes that are actually FUN to make and leave you feeling good afterward. š„š³
I love traveling, stepping into new places, and seeing the world through another lens.
I love my friends fiercely. Iām loyal, even if entrepreneurship doesnāt always leave me as much spare time as Iād like. I love trying to understand how people see the world, what theyāve experienced, and what makes them who they are.
I love all kinds of art, adventure, beautiful things, weird things, meaningful conversations, new experiences, and anything that makes me look at life differently.
So, yes⦠I tattoo faces. š
But really, Iām fascinated by people.
Every client brings me a story, a perspective, and a reason theyāre sitting in my chair. I feel incredibly lucky that my art allows me to connect with so many different people.
Six years in, Iām still learning, growing, and creating.
And I wouldnāt have it any other way. ā¤ļø
Life is the art. Weāre all still becoming the masterpiece.
⨠HEALED POWDER BROWS | ONE SESSION āØ
This beautiful client has been coming to me since 2022, and her brow journey is such a great example of why technique, pigment selection, skin health, and a long-term plan matter in permanent cosmetics.
This is her healed Powder Brow from one session. She has oily skin and uses a lot of active skincare ingredients, both of which can influence how cosmetic tattoo pigment heals and fades.
We have used LI Pigments with iron-oxide-based pigments throughout her journey. LI Pigments are known for maintaining their intended color and fading gradually rather than dramatically shifting into undesirable tones. Her beautiful, neutral brown healed result is a great example of that.
One thing Iāve noticed over the years is how soft and healthy her skin feels while Iām working. There is very little resistance during tattooingāit doesn't feel like heavily worked or compromised tissue.
That can be very different when I see transfer clients who have had repeated procedures performed too aggressively. Sometimes there is significant resistance, fibrosis, or scar tissue, which can make working in the skin much more challenging.
This is why I believe responsible permanent makeup should be approached as a long-term processānot simply as putting more and more pigment into the skin. Proper technique, appropriate depth, conservative saturation, and allowing the skin to recover are all important.
Because we intentionally kept her brows soft and subtle, weāve been able to change and evolve her brow shape twice since 2022 as her preferences changed. We didn't lock her into one bold shape forever.
š¤ Soft now. Beautiful healed. Flexible for the future.
