I always say “VARIETY IS KEY”
Have to mix up your workout. Having variety will keep you from plateauing or getting bored with your workouts.
It also keeps you from over using the same joints / or wearing on ligaments.
As well as staying balanced; strengthening a variety of muscle both big and small, helping to prevent injury and create a more unified physique.
to enjoy this last day of incredible weather 🌞 of course as mom, my breaks never last.... only 10 before nerf guns ruined my moment of peace🤷🏽♀️ but at least I had a few minutes, sunshine, Christmas carols, and much to be grateful for💙💙💙💙

NOW & THEN ➡️
August 2020 versus August 2010
It was completely by chance that I pulled this old swimsuits out and wore it this week, just a few days short of being EXACTLY A DECADE between these pictures.
Petty cool to look back on! I feel pretty proud of myself too. I don’t take supplements, I have never dieted, have no crazy secrets, transformation story, never done anything invasive.... I am just a mom prioritizing her health & wellness.
There has been times it was hard, times got off track, definitely times I was too tired to think strait, times I was injured or on bedrest, times I was too busy to go to the gym, but I have always found a way to stay active. If it’s important you will find away too.
I know that if I don’t take care of myself, I can’t take care of those around me. Children learn by example, my boys see me workout 5 days a week, make healthy food choices, and talk to them about the importance of taking care of our bodies, minds, and the world around us.
Maybe you are newer to prioritizing your health, maybe your still trying to figure out that life/health balance...... IT DOES GET EASIER BUT NEVER GETS EASY. Maybe you need to jump back on the wellness wagon. Just take one step at a time. If you have miss step don’t look at it as failing. Just know it’s part of the process, taking that next step forward will make you strong, give you more discipline, and at the end of the day or the end of the decade, you can look back and feel proud.

Finding balance⚖️
No matter what season it is - phase of life - highs or lows - we are experiencing staying balanced takes constant effort.
Quarantine hasn’t been easy on any of us. Fear of sickness, isolation, and constant change is draining. Now adjusting to our post quarantine world is strange. There is still so much unknown. Leaving us feeling unstable.
My advise to is to seek balance daily☯️Live life to the fullest, but be smart and safe doing so💫
Enjoy the slower pace we have been trapped in but don’t become sedentary🏃🏽♀️
Quite stressing over the small things, instead enjoy each moment and be grateful for your health, family, home, community💖
Focusing on the negative will tip your scale⤵️It’s will drain you mental and physically😞
Focusing on the positive will strengthen your mental health✨energize your body & spirit✳️and keep your foundation strong and balanced💪🏽
Try writing or repeating at least one thing everyday you are grateful for.
that’s energy that only leads negativity, instead look around at all the

If you look closely at the picture there is small waves - ripples in the water.
These ripples grow larger or small depending on what acting upon or causing them, much like our actions and reactions.
There is so much going on. It’s been a draining week for me and a very devastating week for many.
I work part time at Drury University. I have the pleasure of working out with some amazing students and training some incredible athletes!! I know these students and student athletes are not going to die, but their lives have all been flipped upside down and dreams squashed. Weeks, months, years of hard work and their opportunity to showcase it ripped away. Internships and practicums uncompleted, once in a lifetime opportunities gone. I left campus not knowing if I will ever see some of these wonder students again. This is all going to effect us at some level. I pray we all find ways to be compassionate to one another, find opportunities to help our community, spend more time with our families through this. Let’s stop complaining about inconveniences and making jokes about toilet paper. For many this isn’t funny and an “extended” spring break is not a vacation.
There are many sides, lets be kind and patient.

Sometimes I listen to motivational speeches instead of music while working out.... I scribbled this down Monday (arms still shaking) to share with a friend. If anyone has any video or other inspiration sources I would LOVE for you to share them with me🙏🏽 🙏🏽
