A few weeks have passed, and we're still feeling the warmth from April 28th.

What started as a ribbon cutting with the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce turned into a full day of celebration, and we are still smiling about it.

The morning marked more than a new office. It represented a new chapter for Whitlock. Our new space and rebrand reflect who we are and where we're headed, honoring a legacy that dates back to 1913 while embracing a human hands, modern tools approach to the future. We are proud of what has made Whitlock special for over a century, and we are equally excited about what lies ahead.

That afternoon, we opened our doors for an Open House, and it was the perfect way to close out the day. Clients, colleagues, and community members who have supported us, challenged us, and grown alongside us filled our new space with exactly the kind of energy that reminds us why relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Every person who walked through that door has played a part in our story, and celebrating with them made this moment complete. The team at Hired Hostess took care of every detail beautifully, from the branded napkins and custom ice cubes to the cookies, and it showed.

Yesterday was one for the books!

We kicked off the morning with our ribbon cutting ceremony alongside the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce before welcoming friends, clients, and community members through our doors for our Open House.

The day was a celebration of not just a new office space, but a new chapter for Whitlock. We are so grateful for everyone who came out to share it with us.

🎉 Congratulations to Cole Dickerson on earning his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license!

The CPA is the gold standard credential in the accounting profession. Earning it requires passing four comprehensive exams along with meeting rigorous education and experience requirements. It takes real commitment and discipline to get there.

Cole put in the work and we are incredibly proud to have him on the Whitlock team. This is a huge milestone and a well-deserved one! Please join us in celebrating Cole on this outstanding achievement. 👏

🀄 Our First-Ever Mahjong Night was a huge success! 🀄

We kicked off the new year trying something completely new, and what a blast it was! A huge thank you to Andrea Fannin at Blooming Bams Mahjong for teaching us this classic Chinese game from scratch. She made it so approachable that even total beginners were playing like pros by the end of the night!

We love when our employees take the initiative to organize fun experiences like this outside of work. It's proof that we're not just colleagues, we genuinely enjoy spending time together!

We’re thrilled to share some great team updates as we head into 2026!

📍 Springfield Office
Alexandra Etchason will be joining us as an intern starting in January. Lexi is currently a student at Missouri State and we’re excited to have her learning and growing with our team.
Zack Morgan, who previously served as an intern, has officially started full time as a Staff Accountant, a great example of our commitment to developing talent from within.
📍 Kansas City Office
Hayden Irwin, another former intern, has also transitioned into a full time Staff Accountant role. We’re excited to see him continue to grow in our Kansas City office.
📍 Joplin Office
Susan is joining us in a support staff role where she will be assisting with administrative functions.

These additions and transitions represent positive growth for our firm and strengthen our ability to serve our clients with excellence. Expanding our team allows us to better support one another, enhance our expertise, and continue delivering the high quality service our clients expect.
