Missouri State Debate

The deadline for MSDI registration is coming up quickly! The registration deadline is June 5th. The camp offers both commuter and residential options. There is a 2 week CX camp for high school students, 1 week event camp and 1 week middle school camp. For more information check out the camp website- debate.missouristate.edu/camp.htm

The annual end of year BBQ happened last week. Of course there were some squad traditions like whiffle ball.

And the season has come to an end for the Mo State debate bears. Levi and Nico both lost in quarterfinals. The team will head back later today. April has been a busy month with competitors at 3 different national tournaments. We're proud of all the work these students have been putting in throughout the season. Go Bears!

The Mo State debate bears are finishing up their competitive season at NFA-LD Nationals in Nashville. Seven of our competitors advanced to the double final today. Go Bears!

A week from now, Missouri State Debate will welcome competitors from across Missouri for the MSHSAA State Speech and Debate tournament. The competition is looking for judges. Here's the link with more information! P.S. this tournament does pay debate judges.

MSHSAA 2026 Judging April 24, 2026 on the Missouri State U Campus (Springfield). We will email you a couple of weeks before in April 2026 to re-confirm and provide more details.

Break Round!

Nico Neal & Evan Siever just defeated a new aff from a great USC team, and are due affirmative for the first Missouri State NDT break round since 2013!

Our other team continues to accumulate ballots, but they are taking the "one per round" path. They may push the Gabe & Derek 2019 ratio record.

Round 8 starts just before 2pm.

We also think alum Zach Kauffman may be coming by later today! He is nearly done with his Physics PhD from Texas A&M.

NDT Day the 2nd. Now on campus, manageable location & food challenges, and the possibility of breaking new affs!

NS is 2-1 with 5, DN is 0-3 with 2 ballots. Let's go!

They are hiring judges at a daily or per round rate. I recommend daily.
