Recap of the 8th Annual Dragon Ridge Open:

This day in May started out with rain. Thankfully Dragon Ridge has a lot of tree cover so it’s a little easier to keep your discs dry. Players only had to play about 6 holes on the rain. The rest of the round was pretty nice. The second round brought the good ol' Missouri humidity. Thankfully, it was not a hot day, so the density of the air was bearable!

I’d like to make mention and thank both Innova and Dynamic Discs for giving us the equipment to make a tournament central with 6 canopies. I speak for all of us when I say we appreciate all that you both have done for us over the years!

As always, I want to thank all the people who made this tournament possible for another year running!

Thank you to the title sponsors of this tournament, Discmania & The City of Camdenton.

Thank our tournament sponsors: Flagg Electric, Triston Stark, Chroma Tattoo Collective, Fewell’s Auto LLC, Grounds Zero Guns, & Patriots Gold & Silver. Also, thank you to the people who worked hard to make sponsorships happen: River, Triston, and Justin Brammer.

And a big thank you to our Full Send Tour sponsors: Patriots Gold & Silver, Elephant & Castle Fine Arms, Dynamic Discs, Innova Champion Discs, Fossa Disc Golf, Prodigy Discs, Creator Designs, MVP/Axiom Discs, Millennium Golf Discs, Discmania, Educational Disc Golf Experience, Grip EQ, Slim Chickens, 8Up, Greazy Dyes, Discs Unlimited, Swing Right Golf, Intuitive Body Works & Massage, and Sticky Dyes.

The Hot Round of the Day for the ladies was Alexis Kerman’s +2 Round 2. Congratulations, Alexis!

In MA1, Major Cardin and Carson Byrum had to play off to determine the winner. Congratulations to Carson Byrum who came out on top with the win!

In MA40, Dan Ford and Aaron Reinhardt ended Round 2 all tied up. It was Dan who won after the playoff. Congratulations Dan!

Congratulations to all players who cashed!

There were 4 ace hits in total, but only 2 were eligible for the Ace Pot. Congratulations to Triston Stark and Dallas Whittle, who split a $1,135 Ace Pot! Also, Josh Odom and Makai Matthews hit aces but were unfortunately not part of the Ace Pot. Still worth an "atta boy" for the skilled shots of these players!

Congratulations to CTP Winners:

Fresa Jacobs: Dynamic Discs
Major Cardin: MVP

Congratulations to the Big Raffle Winner, Makai Matthews who took home a Blue and Red Monkey Trap in honor of Memorial Day.

Directions: From Kansas Expressway, Turn East on Norton, then take first road North immediately after light. You will see parking signs on the East side of the street. You will then walk North to the first house to enter the gates.

The weather forecast is definitely not the best, but as everyone knows, that has lived here for any length of time, our meteorologists are often wrong. We will play and follow the PDGA’s rules of suspended play if there is inclement weather.

Everyone needs to check in at the table by the house. Don’t forget there is a $5 cash only Ace Pot. To get in you will put your name on the bag and put your $5 in. There is currently $600+ in the pot. There will be a short players meeting at 9:30. After the event amateur players who finish in the top 45% will receive vouchers to be used in the trailer. 6 players will be allowed in at one time. Vouchers must be used by the end of the day unless special arrangements have been made. There will be a fairly large raffle with disc golf items, as well as, items put in by the Dickerson Park Zoo. All proceeds raised will go to the Cheetah Habitat! Thank you for supporting this cause and being apart of this special event

Please be aware that no alcohol or drugs are permitted on any part of the zoo property at any time.

Round 1 tees off at 10. Scores for the tournament need to be kept on the PDGA website. All players are required to keep a separate scorecard according to the new PDGA rule. Player course and hole assignments will be posted around the time registration closes Friday night at https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/78323. The link to online scoring is https://pdga.com/score/ . The access code is DFC. DGM staff will receive them at tournament central.

When round one is finished, players will be on their own for lunch. Because of the projected forecast the plan to serve burgers/hot dogs has been abandoned. Round 2 SHOULD start at 1:30 but may change based on last card. Watch the PDGA event page for actual tee time. Player course and round assignments will once again be posted to the PDGA event page, and scores should be kept on pdga.com.

Rules for the courses are listed below. Dynamic Discs CTP is hole 1. Prodigy-only CTP is hole 4. Innova CTP is hole 13 (any disc may be used to win this CTP). MVP-only CTP is hole 18.

If there is any question about any throws or lies, try to make a group decision. If no decision can be made, play a provisional. When possible, consult with the course TD to determine the correct answer.

Any fences, water (in creek and beyond) and buildings are OB. You receive 6 feet of relief from any and all barbed wire.
