Thirty nine years ago, Robert “Dr. Bob” Wilbern started working on automobiles and, not just any automobile, Robert would specialize - his car of choice. Throughout those years, and working exclusively for Mercedes dealer(s) in the Springfield area, Robert, “Dr. Bob” quickly became the “customer’s choice” for individual and personal Mercedes-Benz in-service repairs. After many years of Mercedes Benz factory training, Robert would become known to his customers, as “Dr. Bob” (Mercedes-Benz Specialist) who could, and can, fix most anything on a Mercedes-Benz. In 1993, encouraged by customers, friends and family, “Dr. Bob”, would open Roberts Automotive in Springfield, IL. Later, sons Mike and Brian would join “Dr. Bob” and together the Wilbern family set a new standard for personalized quality Mercedes – Benz service in Springfield and surrounding areas.
