What a FUN week at First Baptist Christian Day School!

We had such an exciting Fire Safety Week at Day School! Our students had a wonderful time learning about fire safety and getting to see some real-life firefighters in action. ❤️

A HUGE thank you to the Fairfax County Fire Department and Mr. Jim Miller for giving our students such a fun and engaging fire safety presentation! Our kids loved learning how to stay safe and what firefighters do to help keep our community safe.

And a special thank you to Cpt. Sean Allen and his team for giving our students an exciting demonstration of the fire trucks and equipment! Getting to see the trucks up close was such a special experience for our little ones!

Our learning continued in the classroom, too!

In Science, our students learned that fire needs oxygen to burn and explored this concept through a fun experiment.

We also used our five senses to explore apples! The children looked at them, felt their texture, smelled them, listened as they took a bite, and of course… tasted them!

We are loving having our students—both returning friends and new faces—back in the building! It has been such a joy getting to know each child, helping them settle into their routines, and watching their little personalities shine. We are so thankful for a wonderful start to the school year and for the opportunity to love, teach, and nurture these precious children each day. ❤️

🔬 Science has been especially fun this week! Our 2- and 3-year-olds explored color mixing and discovered that when we combine two colors, we can create a brand-new color! 🎨 The 4-year-olds took it a step further with our “Walking Water” experiment, learning about capillary action as colored water traveled through paper towels and into empty cups. 🌈💧

We love watching those little eyes light up!

Even though we didn’t have a play date this past Tuesday, we sure missed spending time with all of you! 💙
As we prepare for another wonderful school year, our Day School team has been praying over each of our students and their families. We are so grateful for the opportunity of walking alongside these families during this special season of life. It is a blessing to not only teach and care for their children, but to build relationships with the entire family.
Each of our families are being lifted up in prayer as we ask God to guide, protect, and bless the year ahead. We are filled with excitement for all the learning, laughter, friendships, and memories that await us!
We can’t wait to welcome everyone back and begin another amazing school year together! ❤️📚✏️🙏

💦☀️ Another fabulous Water Day is in the books! What a fun morning splashing and laughing!

One of our favorite parts of these summer play dates has been watching new families connect with returning families and seeing the children make new friends before the school year even begins. It’s such a blessing to watch our First Baptist Christian Day School community grow!

This was our last scheduled play date for July, but stay tuned! We’ll keep you updated on the possibility of adding more play dates in August.

We wanted to let you know about a change to tomorrow’s summer play date.

Our website currently says we will be meeting at Hidden Oaks Playground, but because of the expected heat, we’ve decided to head back to the splash pad at Chessie’s Big Backyard instead!

🗓️ Date: Tuesday, July 7
⏰ Time: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Feel free to bring a packed lunch if you’d like to stay and enjoy lunch together after the kids have finished playing.

We hope you can join us for another fun morning of splashing, playing, and spending time together!

What a splashing good time we had at the Splash Park!💦☀️

Our First Baptist Christian Day School students had an amazing morning running through the fountains, cooling off in the water, laughing with friends, and making wonderful summer memories!

Love seeing all of our wonderful families who joined us. We can’t wait to see everyone at our next adventure! 💙🌈

Even with a little rain, we enjoyed such a fun morning at Lake Accotink! From finding shells and discovering pretty rocks to exploring, it turned into a fabulous morning full of adventure and smiles.

Thank you to everyone who came out and embraced the fun! We hope to see you next week at Chessie’s Big Backyard Splash Park for another great play date! ☀️💦

We had a great time last Tuesday on the Playground at the church! I am glad so many of you came! We are planning on meeting up this TOMORROW Tuesday 6/16 at Hidden Pond 8511 Greeley Blvd. Springfield, Virginia (https://glnks.com/go/Z7cpWZM47tYH).

We will meet about 10:00AM on the playground. Look for blue balloons! I’ll bring some popsicles... just incase it is HOT! Can’t wait to see you all there!
