Join us on Tuesday, September 30 as we extend our well wishes to Anita Glydewell, Toddler Area Teacher, on her retirement after 21+ years of service. If you are unable to attend please leave her a message here. We will be making a book of your well wishes!!

Thanks to the generous support of the Levi, Ray and Shoup Foundation and the LLCC Foundation, the LLCC Child Development Center has unveiled an exciting new play area for the children to explore and enjoy. What better way to celebrate Week of the Young Child than with a fresh, exciting play area for our youngest learners to experience!

Today is the last day of Week of the Young Child! Today we had to say goodbye to Tucker Turtle. Tucker Turtle has been here all week to help us become good problem solvers, but today he has to leave to go help another school learn to tuck and problem solve! Tucker did take time to visit our family art gallery! Families worked together to create some magnificent art!!

When you work together you are a team! On Work Together Wednesday we had some of our student athletes come over and play during our gross motor time! Special thanks to Braylan Smith and Alex Tame from the LLCC Baseball team, Kaleigh Meyer from LLCC Girls Soccer team, Gus McCrary from the LLCC boys Basketball team and Hunter Mowrey and Mae Herman from the LLCC Girls Basketball team.

Today, children dressed as their favorite book characters and we had many guest readers who spent the morning just reading to children! Special thanks to Emily Woods, April Becker, Steve Torricelli, Sarah Payne, Liz Binns, Lynn Giles-Harris, Jodi Bonnett, Diana Couch, Sally Craft, John Marsaglia, and Kellee Phillips for being our guest readers!

It is Music Monday! 🎶 Thank you to Prof. Jason Waddell and LLCC music students Miriam Carter, Clay Higginson, Aerwyna Eastvold, Megan Thies, and Jacob Kimsey for sharing their musical talents with us today!! Children go to hear a bassoon, a clarinet, a bass clarinet, a saxaphone, a trumpet, a trombone, bells, a cello and an accordion. Best of all they got to sing along with their own voices!! You made Music Monday a wonderful day of learning!!

It is Week of the Young Child!! Guess who is visiting us this week- Tucker Turtle! Tucker will help us remember to: Recognize our feelings - Stop our body- Tuck inside our shell and take 3 deep breaths- come out when we are calm and think of a solution!

Child Development Center staff got their creative juices flowing during last night’s staff meeting and painted “food” rocks for our outdoor mud kitchen and sand play!
