Staff Spotlight: Pam Eastman
Today we recognize someone who helped lay the foundation for what barbering is in our community—Pam Eastman, former owner of The Springfield Barber.
Pam’s journey into the hair industry began in her thirties when she attended cosmetology school to become a hairdresser. After graduating, she worked in a salon in Littleton, NH before returning to the area. It was then that Cassie George from Bob’s Barbershop approached her about becoming a barber. After spending time in the shop observing the craft, Pam knew she had found her fit. With Cassie’s mentorship and education, Pam went on to open her own shop in 1998—2025 creating something that would serve this community for decades.
Outside of work, Pam loves traveling with friends and family, gardening especially her passion for dahlias, which has grown into a new venture and enjoying a good IPA. Her happy place is Sunday family dinners (or honestly anytime) surrounded by the people she loves most. She’s a proud mom of four and grandma to ten. She resides in Reading with her supportive husband Gordy and their dog, Carla.
On a personal note, Pam means a lot to me. She didn’t just own a shop, she created opportunity, stability, and a standard. The foundation she built is something I’m proud to continue. There’s a responsibility that comes with carrying on something someone else poured their heart into, and I don’t take that lightly. I’m grateful for the example she set and the trust she placed in the future of this shop. I cannot thank her enough.
Busy Saturday morning here at The Springfield Barber Company. Full chairs, good conversations, and plenty of laughs going around. Nothing better than good people, good energy, and everyone leaving sharper than they walked in.
Appreciate you all. Hope everyone’s having a great weekend. 💈❤️
