All that’s left is the State Golf Tournament and the Greenwood Boys Golf Team has two All-District medalists getting ready to participate in it! The Class 1 District Tournament was held today at Payne Stewart GC in Spfd. The team finished 5th out of 22 schools and although they fell a little short of their team goal, they did have some individual success. Out of 92 individual players, Luke Seagrave’s, 77, brought home 5th place and Linkin Pinegar’s, 82, garnered 12th place. Corbin Collins, was in it until the last few holes when his 90, fell just outside of the cut line. The state tournament will take place May 18-19 at Rivercut GC in Spfd.

Congratulations to the Lady Jays soccer team on their 2-0 win over Liberty last night.

The GW Boys Golf Team finished out the regular season portion of their schedule by participating in the Pearson City League Tournament. As the tournament had been rescheduled for today during Final Exam week, the Bluejays had three individuals participate. Linkin Pinegar’s (78) earned him a place on the medal stage, followed by Luke Seagrave’s (83) and Damien Bullard’s (109) who was participating in his first 18-hole tournament. Next up is the Class 1 District Tournament this Thursday at Payne Stewart GC. Great job guys!!!

The GW Boys Golf Team had a great day today by beating Central, Hillcrest & Parkview High Schools in a 9-hole match at Payne Stewart GC. In doing so, the golfers shot a season best 162, led by Luke Seagrave (36), Cooper Slayden (42), Linkin Pinegar (42), Caston McConnell (42) and Corbin Collins (44). The JV golfers play in the Buffalo JV Tournament tomorrow and the Varsity players will participate in the Willard Tournament on Thursday. Keep up the good work!
