We’re launching a new Springfield Downtown storytelling series, What’s Your First?, and we’re looking for people who have a story to tell.

Maybe…
🏙️ “I opened my first business here.”
💼 “My first job out of college was downtown.”
❤️ “I met my husband here on our first date.”
🎨 “I created my first public art piece here.”
🏠 “My first apartment was downtown.”
🍽️ “I took a chance and opened my first restaurant here.”

We want to meet the business owners, employees, residents, artists, visitors, community leaders and everyday people whose lives have intersected with Downtown Springfield.

Selected stories will be featured in a short video series on Springfield Downtown’s social media. Nothing overly scripted, just you telling us about your first and the story behind it.

It’s a busy weekend in Downtown Springfield with several events happening September 11–13. If you’re heading downtown, please plan ahead for the following road closures:

📍 Saturday, September 12
Boland Way: Closed from 6:00–8:30 AM for the Ride to Remember.

📍 Sunday, September 13
Main Street: Closed from the Chicopee city line to Court Square Street from approximately 9:00 AM–3:00 PM for the Puerto Rican Parade.

Main Street: Closed from Bridge Street to Boland Way from approximately 3:00–7:00 PM for the Puerto Rican Parade after party.

🚗 Expect increased traffic throughout the weekend and give yourself a little extra time getting around downtown.
