🐾 Competitor Spotlight: Assistant Deputy Superintendent Joel Wun & K9 Kino 🐾
Please help us welcome Assistant Deputy Superintendent Joel Wun and K9 Kino from the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office to the 2026 Connecticut K9 Olympics!
K9 Kino is a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois and a highly skilled working K9 who proudly serves alongside ADS Wun.
Now, here’s where things got a little difficult...
When we asked Joel to tell us about his accomplishments for this spotlight, he left that part blank 🤔 In true Joel fashion, he chooses to remain the modest and and refrain from talking about his achievements.

ADS Wun is regarded as one of the most experienced handlers to ever compete at the Connecticut K9 Olympics, he has spent years building an impressive career in the K9 world and continues to share his knowledge and experience with others. While he refuses to provide a list of accomplishments, we do know he and his newest partner Kino have earned multiple top finishes, including 1st Place victories at USPCA Regional Trials.
Whether he’s on the competition field or working alongside K9 Kino, Joel represents the professionalism, dedication, and humility that make the K9 community so special. It seems that for him, the Olympics is about having fun, being a part of the community, and working his partner, and that’s exactly what this event is all about!!
We’re honored to have ADS Wun and K9 Kino joining us this year and look forward to watching this accomplished team compete once again!
