Great start to the semester with our SAAB Welcome Reception! Members had the chance to connect over desserts, take part in a competition, and our winner took home a Domino’s gift card.

We’re excited to see everyone again at our next meeting on Sept. 9th, 7-8pm in PSU 317.

Come hang out, learn more about SAAB, and connect with other students! We’ll have refreshments and a fun group activity with a gift card prize.

Our Educator’s Forum was a great success yesterday! A huge thank you to our incredible panel of professors for sharing their wisdom on student success. Additionally, thank you to our Academic Committee, Talon Mitchell and Chris Wells for putting this panel on. The insights were invaluable for all who attended!

Last night at our general body meeting, we had the privilege of welcoming Matthew King, who shared his powerful stories, poetry, and presentation with us. We are incredibly grateful to have him as a part of our brotherhood!

Today, we pause to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader whose courage, vision, and unwavering faith in justice continue to inspire generations. Dr. King dreamed of a world where love, equality, and unity triumph over hate, division, and injustice. His words remind us that progress is possible when we come together to serve and uplift one another.

As he so powerfully asked, ‘Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ Let this day be a call to action, a reminder to give back, fight for equality, and build bridges within our communities. Together, we can keep his dream alive.

Meet Grant Studor! This psychology sophomore stays grounded with Bible reading, Salt Company Thursdays, and alternative music. His goal this semester: build strong relationships and give back to the community.

Last night at our general body meeting, we heard from Duan Gavel, President of the MSU Black Alumni Association, about the unique opportunities the association offers to stay connected with Missouri State after graduation. The Black Alumni Network provides social, professional, and educational events—from Bears watch parties to national alumni gatherings—while promoting diversity, supporting Black students, and fostering leadership within the Alumni Association!

Another fantastic SAAB General Body Meeting in the books! Huge shoutout to our Spiritual/Social Committee for organizing an exciting game of trivia. Congratulations to our top three finishers: Kolawi Kifle in third, Patrick Booker in second, and our high-scoring trivia champ… Talon Mitchell! Thanks to everyone who joined in on the fun!

We kicked off our chapter’s first social event at Classic’s Yard with playing games including Pickleball, Fowling, Connect 4 Basketball, Free Throw Lanes, Co****le, Golf Simulator, and Ping Pong!
