Most containment problems are hiding at the handoff.
Drum to booth. Bin to reactor. Isolator to downstream equipment. Process vessel to cleaning.
That is where seals, motion, gravity, operator movement, and controls all have to agree. Treating transfer devices as accessories is how dust, spills and workarounds sneak into a line.

A bin can behave beautifully until it has to empty.
Hopper angle, outlet size, valve style, surface finish and the transition into the discharge all affect what happens at the bottom of an IBC. Storage is one job. Reliable discharge is another.
The powder will tell you which one you designed for. Take look at one of our previous project builds in action:

Most powder handling setups fail at the transition points. You buy a great blender and a solid isolator, but it's the six inches between them where the dust becomes a REAL problem.
We see three common mistakes in the hand-off:
- Using generic gaskets for reactive chemical batches
- Over-complicating the docking mechanism until it's a cleaning nightmare
- Ignoring how air pressure shifts when you open a valve
Fixing the seam is cheaper than a total system overhaul. It usually starts with a simple measurement and a better grip on how your powder actually flows.
If your current setup is leaving a mess on the floor, visit our website to look at the layout together.

Booth or isolator? Start with the work.
Open access, material potency, sterility requirements, operator intervention, retrofit constraints and cleaning expectations all shape the decision. In some rooms, the right answer is a booth. In others, an isolator. Often, the smartest answer is a carefully designed combination.
Read CPS’s isolator-versus-downflow-booth guide, then tell us which step your team is debating.

2027 projects are being shaped by the questions asked this fall.
Containment targets, room constraints, utilities, automation boundaries, cleaning and validation all take time to align across engineering, EHS, quality, operations and procurement.
Starting early does not lock you into equipment. It gives the team room to get the hard parts named before the schedule gets loud.

A system does not leave Springfield because one person did one thing right.
It leaves because a lot of people did their part carefully: the drawing, the weld, the panel, the fit-up, the inspection, the crate, the call after startup.
It is just how good our people work to get things done.
