Don't Lose Hope, Stand Up To Bullying - 2012 Teen Video Awards Nominee 11/29/2022

I was in the fifth grade when I first met Scott Hannah. He and his best friend, Tyler Gregory, competed in the No Bull Challenge and were from my school. I remember watching this video during a school assembly as eleven year old Mozie, already struggling with self harm and suicidal ideation because of bullying. I remember feeling empowered and that I wasn’t alone after hearing them speak and watching the video they created. They gave me hope in a time when I needed it.

Five years later, Be Kind suddenly happened and I remember thinking to myself “Wow, this reminds me of the impact Scott and Tyler had on me” while receiving all of the kind, encouraging messages about the impact I making.

Scott Hannah was and will continue to be a light to all. You showed me at such a young age I could advocate and make a difference by turning my pain into my purpose. You will be so missed and your legacy will continue to light the lives of many, just like it did mine.

Thinking and sending positive thoughts to everyone impacted. If you are in need of resources to help you through this time, there is a comprehensive list on our website or just simply reach out to us.

I've been pretty quiet on this page, but Be Kind has been busy!

I brought the Be Kind message to the Miss Ohio stage and got to share my story.

Miss Ohio is a week long (and a VERY busy week) , so I have been resting and taking care of myself before I start my next adventure!

Thank you all for your continued support 🌻

I was so excited to go back to my alma mater .school to present Be Kind: Healthy Coping Skills in the Upper Level Learning Series! I had the privilege to talk to students about what healthy coping skills are and how to utilize them. We also discussed how to talk about our feelings and local resources available to them. Of course we also talked about my journey to Miss Ohio and had some special crowning moments! Thank you for having me today!

These weren't all of the students I got to speak to today, but we had such great conversations about mental health projects they are creating in their schools that we ran out of time! Thank you Miss Dixon for having me come and share my story and about Be Kind to these changemakers in our community. Also, thank you Wittenberg University for allowing us to have this event!

Thank you to everyone who made our first ever Be Kind: Walk to Break the Stigma a huge success!
We couldn't of done it without our sponsors, donors, local resources, and volunteers.
Our event wouldn't of been a success without each and every person who walked, bought merchandise, donated, and simply showed up to participate. There is strength in numbers.
We raised over $2,000 for our community to benefit mental health resources so that they may be accessible to EVERYONE.
