The Springfield College women's volleyball team swept New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponent Wheaton (Mass.) in a Wednesday night matchup.

The Pride won by set scores of 27-25, 25-21, 25-23 and improve to 11-4 overall and 3-2 in conference play while the Lyons drop to 5-12, 0-5.

The Springfield College women's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over Coast Guard on Wednesday evening at Nitchman Field.

With the win, Springfield moves to 3-7-0 overall and 2-2-0 in NEWMAC play, while Coast Guard drops to 2-4-4 overall and 0-2-2 in conference play.

A goal from Aidan Hallinan (New Windsor, N.Y.) would be the difference maker as the Springfield College men's soccer team defeated Hartford in a nonconference matchup on Tuesday night, 1-0.

Tommy Fenton (East Hampton, Conn.) recorded five saves in the shutout win. Springfield held a 16-13 advantage in shots while both teams were even in corner kicks with two apiece.

Springfield College senior Mike Mendicino (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) and junior Ian Wernik (Plymouth, Mass.) both received New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) weekly awards for the fifth week of the 2026 season. Mendicino was named Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week, while Wernick was named Special Teams Athlete of the Week.

Springfield College football senior linebacker Mike Mendicino (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) has earned the Division II/III New England Football Writers Association Gold Helmet Award presented by the Jack Grinold/Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation after an incredible preformance this past weekend.

The Springfield College football team earned a win over New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponent Salve Regina on Saturday afternoon, 36-23.

Springfield saw a program record three interceptions returned for touchdowns on the day and became one of very few programs across Division III to complete the feat. Mike Mendicino (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) became one of very few student-athletes to record a pick six twice in one game while Will Aviles (Bethlehem, Pa.) added the other for the Pride. The defense totaled four interceptions — the other pick coming from Brady Vale (Ellington, Conn.) — which include three that were returned for touchdowns for a total of 214-yards.

Springfield College men's golf senior Matthew Kumpulanian (Wilbraham, Mass.) was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Golf Player of the Year after an incredible showing at the MASCAC Championship.

Kumpulanian is the second student-athlete in program history to earn MASCAC Player of the Year accolades as he joins Mike Strong who earned the honor in 2019 when the Pride joined the conference as an affiliate member. Kumpulanian also earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team for the second all-conference honor of his career as he was named to the All-Conference Second Team and earned MASCAC Rookie of the Year honors in 2024.
