Springfield College women's lacrosse senior Sarah Newton (Colchester, Conn.) was recently named as an Honorable Mention All-American from USA Lacrosse Magazine. Newton becomes the first All-American for the program since 2021.

Newton ends her collegiate career with 80 goals and 32 assists for 112 career points to go along with 75 ground balls, 41 caused turnovers and 175 draw controls all in 66 total games played on Alden Street. In total, Newton started in 61 of 66 possible games for the Pride over the previous four seasons.

After winning the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball National Championship title, Springfield College senior Dylan Mulvaney (Reston, Va.) was named as the FrogJump Division III National Setter of the Year for the second consecutive season. In its fourth year of existence, this annual award is selected by a committee of FrogJump staff.

Mulvaney, a four-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III All-American for Springfield College, became the fourth student-athlete in program history to eclipse 3,000 career assists and ends a historic career as one of the best setters to ever compete on Alden Street. In 348 career sets, Mulvaney produced 3,446 assists, 139 kills, hit at a .426 clip and recorded 214 blocks. This season, he guided the nation's top offensive unit setting new career highs in assists, hitting percentage and blocks.

Springfield College junior pitcher Josh Mayo (Westfield, Mass.) was recently named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division III All-Region I Third Team.

Mayo, who also earned Second Team All-Conference accolades from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) earlier this season, excelled on the mound going 4-2 with a 3.83 earned run average over 56.1 innings. The junior pitched three complete games including a nine inning showing in a 5-3 comeback win against conference opponent Wheaton College on April 4 and the team's first no-hitter since 2019 against Emerson College on March 29. He also posted one shutout and struck out 53 batters - the third most strikeouts in the NEWMAC.

Springfield College Director of Athletics, Dr. Craig Poisson, is pleased to announce that Nicole Ambrose has been named as the Head Women's Basketball Coach and assistant professor of physical education at Springfield College.

"Coach Ambrose's professional experience and demonstrated personal commitment to being a 'student of the game', invented right here on Alden Street, strongly aligned with the mission of Springfield College, grounded in the Humanics Philosophy," said Poisson. "I look forward to her impact as a teacher-coach in the classroom and with our student-athletes on the hardwood at the Birthplace of Basketball."

Springfield College men's lacrosse senior midfielder Matt Webb (Northport, N.Y.) was recently named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-Region team earning Honorable Mention accolades.

Webb, a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-League Second Team selection, produced 20 goals and eight assists for 28 points in his senior season as he ranked in the top-five on the team in all three statistical categories in 2026. Webb tallied two or more goals in seven different contests this year and notched a season-high five points (three goals and two assists) against Endicott on March 6.

Springfield College junior Katherine DeFosse (Worcester, Mass.) made the most of her first trip the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships this weekend finishing fourth in the country in the 100-meter hurdles.

DeFosse, who has now appeared on the national stage three times in her career (two indoor, one outdoor) claimed the second All-America accolade of the 2025-26 academic year and third of her collegiate career with her fourth place finish today in the 100-meter hurdles.

Springfield College junior Mike Anderson (Cromwell, Conn.) and senior Daniel McGlashan (Haverhill, Mass.) represented the Pride at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships with Anderson collecting his first career All-America honor.

For the fourth consecutive season, Springfield College softball senior Amelia DeRosa (Miller Place, N.Y.) has been chosen as an All-Region honoree from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

DeRosa picked up her third career nod to the NFCA All-Region First Team and adds it to her Third Team selection in 2025. She was one of 16 student-athletes chosen for All-Region honors this year and one of seven who were placed on the First Team. In fact, the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) made up seven of 13 honorees on the NFCA All-Region II First Team in 2026.

For the first time in her career, Springfield College women's lacrosse junior Izzy Lalancette (Feeding Hills, Mass.) has been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Berkshire Region Second Team.

Lalancette, who was earlier named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference First Team, led the Pride with a team-high 40 goals while tallying seven assists as the junior notched her 100th career goal in late March. She was second on the team in multiple categories including points (47), ground balls (29) and caused turnovers (19).
