We began as a very small site aimed at highlighting positive events in the community. True to our roots we do that today, but have also grown into a local community outlet for positive events and stories.

It's been almost ten years since we started this project with a vision. We would like to thank all of our followers and all the people that helped make SMM possible across the different platforms throughout the years.

It is with sadness that we must announce that SMM will be shutting down all of its operations across all platforms on October 1st 2025. Including Springfield Mass Events and Springfield Mass Group here on Facebook.

Currently Springfield Preservation Trust will hold its annual meeting in person at the Willys-Overland building at 151-157 Chestnut Street. It will be held on February 26 at 1pm. The meeting will be open to SPT members and the general public. The annual meeting will feature an overview of the past year, election of the board, and announcement of the 2023 Most Endangered List. Following the meeting will be a presentation by Chuck Irving. He will be discussing a project by Davenport Companies. For this event we will need people to pre-register so please email [email protected] by February 24. More details coming soon.
