BEN was born at the tender age of seven and has been trying to catch up on sleep ever since. During his formative years he was pressed into service as a linguistic storage silo for a large methanol factory and still suffers from slight fermentation of nouns and the occasional dislocated adverb. He learned to play the guitar because it’s better than sitting in silence, but soon found that when he opened his mouth when he was jamming all his syllables fell out. He likes to write his lyrics the same way he makes his cocktails, in partnership with alcohol and with a view to being easily set on fire. TIM
While ostensibly being of sound body and mind, there is some doubt as to whether TIM is in fact either. Originally constructed in the late 1970s entirely from spare elbows and shins left over from the Salmon migrations of the early 20th century, TIM was designed as an experiment into planned obsolescence. In fact, he was expected to be replaced by a drum machine within a decade. However, he lingers on, still hitting things with sticks and making odd clunky noises, mostly because although electronic drums machines turned out to be far more accurate it also turned out that nobody ever really wanted a drummer that played exactly in time. Some things are greater than the sum of their parts. Like ants, for example. HEISENBUG is an emergent property of the collaboration of two otherwise inconceivable musicians and while the true potential of this amalgamation is still unknown it has become clear that once unleashed the HEISENBUG will probably spend quite a while deciding which things to put back in Pandora’s box.
