417 GOLF

55 of us joined together and created a golf club and this past Saturday, February 28, 2026, we played "The Final Round".

We found competition, and camaraderie.
We found stories we’ll tell the rest of our lives.
We also found something much bigger.

For 4 years, this club has given us something to look forward to:
a reason to gather, to compete, and to belong.

And while this may be our final round as a club,
These friendships and traditions won’t end here.
Because of you, we played and we improved.
But most importantly to me, because of you, I felt I belonged.
So to all 55 members:

What started off as an incredibly warm and sunny day for February, ended with grey skies, a chill in the air, and a drizzle of rain on the 18th hole. Almost as if the weather wanted to shed a tear for 417 Golf Club's "THE FINAL ROUND" at Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course. Congratulations to MATT SCHOOL who was inducted into the club on the first tee and won the Low Gross with a 76. CHARLES LEFEBVRE took the 1st Place Low Net with a +2. HONORABLE MENTION goes to TIM HAWLEY for sharing his bottle of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon!!! (not pictured: Cam Pope, Patrick Old)

Three foursomes competed under perfect conditions today at Horton Smith Golf Course in 417 Golf Club's "SOAK UP THE SUN". Congratulations to low gross winner Steve Cochran who shot 35 on the front and 33 on the back for a Person Best of 68!!! COCHRAN also won 1st Place in the Low Net with a -3. HONORABLE MENTION goes to RICK JOSE for his Net Eagle on 17!!! Also, a warm welcome goes out to John "Coach" Busby and Matt School who played in their first event with us today. We all look forward to playing with you again soon!

We had 2 days of perfect weather for 417 Golf Club's "2025 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP" this past Saturday and Sunday at Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course and Rivercut Municipal Golf Course. Congratulations to our 2025 Champion PATRICK OLD who won the Low Gross shooting 78 and 78 for a total score of 156. And Congratulations to BRYAN HALL who took 1st Place in the Handicap Event with a 2 Day Net Score of -8. HONORABLE MENTION goes to the points race for Golfer of the Year which now has the 4 top contenders within 2 points of each other!

Steve Cochran dominated today with a 73 gross and -6 net! We played “90 degrees” with healthy rough and picturesque fairways at Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course!

Huge Congratulations to Cameron Pope who won the the title of CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS in 417 Golf Club Members "The Tournament of Champions" this past Saturday at our 2024 Season ending major event at Rivercut Municipal Golf Course with a gross score of 81!!!
