The role the scapula plays in upper extremity function is of extreme importance. When Weakness is present in the scapular stabilizers this may result in altered biomechanics in the form of:
1) Too much stress upon the anterior capsular structures of the shoulder,
2) increased possibility of rotator cuff compression, and 3) shoulder complex neuromuscular performance may be altered or decreased.
