THE FEAST OF THE HARVEST - PENTECOST Traditionally, people were expected to bring the first harvest of grain to the Lord, including two leavened loaves of bread.

As the priests in the Temple were offering the first loaves of the new harvest, in celebration of the Feast of the Harvest (later called Pentecost by the Greek speaking Jews meaning 50 days).

The HOLY SPIRIT came to an upper room…

It was now God presenting His firstfruits to the world ... the firstfruits of the age... and in the city of Jerusalem where the firstfruits must be presented and consecrated as holy.

That arrival was the day the Church was born, and the harvest began with 3,000 souls.

The message spread to both Jews and Gentiles (represented by the two leavened loaves of bread).

This feast pointed to the great and very diverse harvest of souls, that would come into the kingdom of God.

The firstfruits of new life, gathered together on the very same day when the firstfruits of the summer harvest were gathered together before the Lord.

So the pouring of the Spirit on the one hundred twenty, that was the CONSECRATION of the FIRSTFRUITS.
