Taking prom photos of this sweet couple sent me right back down memory lane…

I remember for my senior prom, I got to wear my dream dress. It was light green with a low back. Think, “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days dress,” but a bit different, because I didn’t want to straight copy the trend. :)

I’m sure there is a photo in my myspace archives, but I don’t even know how to login to that anymore.

Today, we had a small family bday celebration for Roxie Pop.

Our Minnie loving two year old is living her biggest and best life every single day. She finds joy everywhere, isn't afraid of anything and loves a good dance party.❤️

I remember when I first started directing photo sessionss, I really struggled with knowing how to "pose," people.

Over time, I started to realize that I felt like there was so much more connection between the shots. I felt like I could really see everyone's personalities when the pressure of posing was removed.

Now, when I show up to a session, whether I know you personally or not, I observe. I observe what kind of mood you are in, the purpose behind the session and the emotion that may be attached to it and I lean in with intention.

In other words, I follow you. I try my best to create comfort and help you forget about the camera so that the photos we capture are a true depiction of you.
