They’re headed to the global stage in São Paulo, Brazil, where they’ll present UpBulak — an innovative social enterprise transforming polyethylene waste into eco-friendly pipes to help improve access to clean water in rural communities.

By addressing plastic pollution, water scarcity, and local community development at the same time, UpBulak shows how student-led innovation can turn environmental challenges into practical solutions that create real social impact. 🌍

They’re headed to the global stage in São Paulo, Brazil, where they’ll present Res-Q Net — a backup communication system designed to keep emergency services connected when normal networks fail.

Res-Q Net is a backup communication system for emergency services when normal networks fail. During disasters like floods or blackouts, regular communication systems can stop working within hours.

Res-Q Net solves this by creating a self-sustaining, solar-powered network that automatically activates when the power grid goes down. It forms a local, secure network that allows police, firefighters, and ambulance services to keep communicating using their existing smartphones; without internet or satellites.🌍

They’ll be taking the global stage in São Paulo, Brazil this November, presenting their project, .ok —an eco-friendly fire brick made from unrecyclable books and local beeswax, offering a lightweight alternative to firewood.🪵

By developing their production line in-house, the team has created new waste diversion channels for libraries and businesses, turning overlooked materials into a practical, financially sustainable solution.

Through partnerships with local retailers and waste diversion organizations, Paper Trail is showing how circular thinking can create real environmental and community impact, demonstrating how student-led ideas can transform waste into opportunity. 💪
