Last week, Local 137 Business Manager and President of the Central Illinois Building and Construction Trades Council Aaron Gurnsey and Brother Sam Sinclair, Henson Robinson Company Project Manager, took the stage at the Advancing Data Center Construction Midwest Conference in Chicago — joining 30+ expert speakers and 200+ industry peers for three days of collaboration and networking.

Their panel dove into recruitment, retention and fabrication in a union-heavy market — timely topics as Midwest data center construction continues to explode, fueled by a wave of investments and a push toward AI-ready facilities.

The conference covered everything from skilled labor pipelines and prefab/modular methods to sustainable energy, water usage, noise impact, and navigating the supply chain chaos we all know too well.

Union voices belong at these tables, and Local 137 was proud to represent! 💪
