Here is a list of the native trees in Ohio, on the left is each individual trees hardness(Janka) rating and weight per BF (Board foot) in alphabetical order.
On the right their Janka Rating is in order from “Softest” 2️⃣ “Hardest”.
Keep this in mind when you are getting something made, Some woods are better fit for specific projects than others. But they all have their place.
