For over 60 years, Precision Tank, a Precision Build company, has built quality American-made stainless steel, mild steel, and fiberglass tanks for agricultural and industrial use, along with custom plumbing and tank parts. Some product lines begin with an opportunity; this one began with a problem worth solving!
When DEFCO™ pumps were no longer being produced and replacement parts became increasingly difficult to find, Don and our Athens team recognized how many customers still depended on them. What followed took vision, persistence and a great deal of work: Precision Tank acquired the DEFCO™ trademark and brought the pumps—and the parts needed to support them—back into production.
Today, our Athens facility manufactures four DEFCO™ Replacement Pump models:
• 7600 3-inch pump — PTO or hydraulic drive
• 8200 4-inch pump — PTO or hydraulic drive
DEFCO™ Replacement pumps have long served liquid tenders and applicators, fertilizer mixing plants, airport deicing equipment and fire tankers. They remain a dependable replacement option, but they’re equally suited for new generation builds!
Our Athens facility also provides pump repair and carries pumps and parts from Ace, Banjo, Dura, Hypro, John Blue, MP and Scot.

𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧—𝐚𝐭 𝟏𝟓𝟎 𝐦𝐩𝐡.
Precision Tank was proudly represented as part of the Precision Build family last Saturday at Iowa Speedway, where Precision Build joined BRANDT Professional Agriculture on the hood of Justin Allgaier’s No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet.
And the No. 7 gave everyone plenty to cheer about. Allgaier led a race-high 83 laps and captured the Stage Two win before an overtime incident brought an early end to an otherwise outstanding run.
Several members of our team also had the opportunity to host customers at the race and enjoy an exciting day of racing, conversation and partnership.
We’re proud to see the Precision Build name out front—and even prouder of the relationships that continue to move us forward.
