R.C. the RC Racer

Qualifying is done. Managed to get 10th out of 31 cars. The Schumacher Icon 2 has gotten better every run, as I get to know how the car works. I have less than 20 batteries ran through the car and it has made me competitive fairly quickly.

We are at Spransy Raceway this weekend, for round 2 of the F1/RCFIA Midwest Racing Series.

Teammate, Jesse Gray, and I had test and tune yesterday to prep for today. We are feeling pretty good about our set ups and ready to get qualifying started.

Today the ROAR Region 5 Champs was held at Lower Level Raceway, in Niles, Michigan. Phil Vertrees, (track owner), has created a beautiful space for us all. He always runs a solid and timely program. Lunch was provided by the track. Today we enjoyed a delicious taco bar. 🌮

I entered 21.5 TC for the event. Long story short, I qualified 3rd and finished 3rd.

ROAR Regional races are notoriously poorly attended. This weekend was not an exception. What was exceptional....the whole race. The racing was great. The comradery in the pits was amazing. I think every experienced racer provided help to at least one other driver. Everyone had a great time today. Zac Donathen, our Region 5 director, is doing a great job of putting these events on, despite the low interest. The attitude is grass roots and he has support from all that attended today. I look forward to promoting next year's race and having larger participation. Region 5 has some of the top onroad racers in the nation and this is a call to action to all of them.

New build starts today.

Today was Christmas in September. Received my first order from Schumacher Racing.
