These two ladies have unfortunately entered the “Hall of Shame” of Small Business Owners in the Springfield, Missouri area.
On October 3, 2023 they came into the Jums African Market and Delivery Store and shop lifted items into their bags. In our usual welcoming manner, friendliness and eagerness to share information about the natural foods, herbal remedies, costumes and spices, the ladies took advantage, had a “queens walk” pilfering through the Store in a most disgraceful manner.
In as much as we didn’t want any confrontations. It is important to share this info with the community. If anyone knows of these 2, please let them know we have submitted these videos to the Police and they are not welcome EVER to our Market.
This is definitely NOT Okay!
This is definitely not Women supporting Women !
This is not a way to support Local Businesses!
This is not a way to Support Minority business owners
This is not good for our reputation as a people of Color!
We MUST do better!

Saturday Special 💯…, Amala & Gbegiri and Ewedu Soup!
Brief Intro: A plate of Amala Dudu (Yam flour) with Gbegiri soup(beans soup), Ewedu soup, pepper stew with beef and ponmo (cowskin)
Gbegiri is a traditional soup from the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria. It is made from black-eyed peas or honey beans (brown beans), ground crayfish, palm oil, stock, irú (locust beans), salt, and cayenne pepper.
Amala - This is brown Yam flour stirred in hot water to make a good consistency without any coarseness. Rich in fibers and relatively low CHO, this is considered as one of the best afternoon meals options.
If you were to visit South-west Nigeria today, this would undoubtedly be one of the best choice, to introduce you to savory and delicious taste of African foods. Come see us at 1454 E Kearney Street, Springfield MO 65803 to have the aunthetic, undiluted taste of traditional African meal without jetting out on a plane.
