Hippo aka Raspberry

Hey gang,

The page as been quite well because Hippo is rocking life with her adoptive mom! But we wanted to let you guys know on October 17th it has been 1 year since she found her forever mom!

Hippo has struggled some with UTI's but her mom is on top of it. She continues to love her clothes and being a diva. She is loving life and living the life we have all dreamed for her!!!!

Please please adopt, foster, volunteer or donate to help the animals like Hippo that were thrown away like the garbage.

We appreciate your support and willingness to love, pray and think about our Hippo.

Her mom bought her a new sweater and plans on embroidering her name into it!

Update from Hippo's ADOPTIVE mom:

She is doing amazing and has settled into her families routine. She has 1 fur sister and 2 fur brothers. She is still acclimating to them. She loves taking naps in bed with her mom.

She recently got new diapers and new bones! She is loving the furever family life!

I cannot thank each of you for sharing her posts to help me find this amazing girl her forever home just in time for the holidays!

I will keep updating as long as you guys would like and as long as I get info!

Hippo Update:

She made it home yesterday. She played so hard when she got home she crashed in her mom's bed!!!! In her bed!!!!!

For some you may not know this but I dreamed of Hippo sleeping in someone's bed next to them! She deserves that but due to her incontinence and the diapers not catching everything I felt that dream was merely a dream... well it wasn't! She took a nap next to her mom!!!

I have learned through this adoption sometimes your expectations get in the way of seeing the good things... you want the world for your pups and don't realize sometimes it's right in front of you but not exactly how you expected it.

The Lord provided for Hippo.

I have tried so hard to figure out the words but tears just flow.

In November of 2022 we brought this squatty Hippotamus home with a guarded prognosis.

We "prepared" twice with the Rescue One medical team to say goodbye to her because her health rapidly declined and we couldn't figure out the cause. We even had a professional photo shoot with cake, cheeseburgers, tutus etc to celebrate her life because we thought it was goodbye. We were fully prepared to adopt her because we were not letting her leave this world without a last name.

If you have ever been able to meet Hippo you know she takes a piece of you with her as she waddles away. She is truly a blessing from God and should be an inspiration to all of us about perseverance. She has absolutely no reason to love humans... none. Humans have 155% failed her but she loves so so deeply and has forgiven.

Well I am currently avoiding what needs to be said because I feel my throat tightening... it's a weird feeling because I never processed this outcome. Lord knows I prayed for it... and he answered.

Hippo is being adopted by an amazing woman that lives for her dogs. I am truly unsure if we would be able to find a woman who would love her more. Hippo will have siblings, a play area, and a mom who doesn't care about her "messes".

We would like to thank Rescue One medical team and staff for allowing me to care for her. I am not really sure how to hand this torch off but Lord knows I am happy for her... but my heart is in a very weird place.

Hippo's mom doesn't wish to continue the page and I told her that is completely fine. I also told her we would all respect her wishes. I did ask her for updates and she said she would gladly provide those to me. She also stated I could visit whenever I would like.

I would like to thank every single one of you that supported me and this amazing girl on this journey. I would like to thank everyone who financially provided support and the ones who sent prayers. I am unsure we could have made it this far without you all. I am passing on all the amazing gifts to her new home!

Today I am at daycare and I am making friends with the little pups!

Today was a great day! I went to doggie daycare! I made friends with everyone of course but the best part is I was a star pupil and was used to help show the new guy the ropes! Bow Wow treats me like a queen. I am blessed to have them! Also thank you Rescue One for allowing me to go!

Hippo is pretty anxious this morning. She is leaning on me hard-core which is abnormal for her. She is normal very confident... but it is a new place so I am pretty sure that's it.

Send positive vibes please.

Guess who goes to doggie daycare?!? Yep that's right me!!!! And I love it. The ladies are so nice and I am making so many new friends!

We are still working on some weird tummy issues which I have an ultrasound tomorrow so send happy vibes and prayers please.

Hey fan club,

I have been a busy girl. I have spent the week at the clinic because my tummy is acting up. My amazing Doc is trying to work some magic to figure out what's going on with my silly tummy.

In the meantime I am getting spoiled by the amazing Rescue One Vet crew! I get cuddles and neck rubs. I have even assisted with surgeries. I am thinking about becomg Dr K's new assistant.

I get to cruise the neighborhood in style... too... look at my new wheels!!! Don't worry I can still walk but why would you want to when you can cruise around in style!
