Their team came out and got us started on installing fencing along the front of our property. We are so grateful for your willingness to give your time, energy, and hearts to help us continue creating a safe and welcoming place for those we serve.

We were honored to welcome a wonderful group from a local developmental day center to Blue Sky Acres! 🐴💙

During their visit, they enjoyed a tour of the property, spent time interacting with our horses, and got hands-on in the wood shop by creating a special project of their own. It was a joy to share our space and watch smiles, laughter, and new experiences unfold throughout the day.

We were honored to attend the Ignition Clinic at Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch alongside other like-minded ministries from across the country. Since much of what we do at Blue Sky Acres has been inspired by their model, this was an incredible opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with others who share the same heart for serving others through horses.

We came home with new ideas, valuable insights, and meaningful relationships. But more importantly, we were reminded that before anything else, we are a ministry. Our mission is not just about programs, activities, or horses—it is about pointing people to the hope, healing, and redeeming love of Jesus Christ.

As we continue serving our community, we pray that we will always keep Jesus at the center of everything we do. ❤️✝️🐴

🐴 We Need Volunteers! ❤️

Do you have a heart for serving others and sharing the love of Christ? We are currently looking for volunteers to join all of our teams, with an especially great need for Program Mentors and Program Greeters.

At Blue Sky Acres, we seek to provide a safe place for healing and build relationships that offer encouragement, hope, and trust through the redeeming love of Jesus Christ.

✨ Program Mentors work one-on-one with a child, teen, or adult who has experienced trauma. Through horse activities, barn chores, games, arts and crafts, and simply showing up consistently, mentors help create meaningful relationships that can make a lasting impact.

Program Mentor Requirements:
• Age 21+
• Complete Basic Volunteer Application
• Submit Program Mentor Application
• Background Check & Mandated Reporter Training
• Sign BSA Statement of Faith
• Commit to a minimum of 3 hours per week during a 10-week session (Fall & Spring)
• Horsemanship skills training provided
• Additional trauma and relationship training provided

✨ Program Greeters are the welcoming faces that children and families see first. They help create an atmosphere of warmth and belonging while also offering encouragement and prayer, if desired.

Program Greeter Requirements:
• Age 21+
• Complete Basic Volunteer Application
• Submit Program Greeter Application
• Background Check & Mandated Reporter Training
• Sign BSA Statement of Faith
• Weekly or bi-weekly commitment during sessions

You don’t have to be an expert with horses to make a difference. We provide training and support—you simply need a willing heart and a desire to serve.

Our next Virtual Orientation for new volunteers is coming up on June 11th, and after that, orientations will continue to be held on the second Thursday of each month.

It’s a great way to learn more about what we do, how you can get involved, and ask any questions you may have. We hope to see you there!

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who laid down their lives for our freedom. We are forever grateful for their sacrifice, courage, and service. 🇺🇸

Today, we also remember the countless military animals who served faithfully alongside them — the horses, dogs, mules, and other service animals who worked with bravery, loyalty, and devotion in times of war and peace. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

At Blue Sky Acres, we are especially thankful for the special bond between humans and animals and the comfort, strength, and healing they bring to our lives every day.

May we all take a moment today to reflect, remember, and give thanks. ❤️🤍💙
