New England Fools Ocean Trucking - John DeForest 2023 brought the New England Fools to Union Fire District in South Kingston Rhode Island the weekend of June 23-25th. The 3 day class started with a lecture on Friday night which transitioned to on hands training Saturday and Sunday.

HCRFS FF1 & FF2 Class - John DeForest Its a rare sight but HCRFS FF1 and FF2 shared the fireground this morning at the Ct Fire academy. FF1 continued working ladders and FF2 went over FF bail outs and rope bail outs. FF2 was led by Jason Gilbert and FF1 was led by Tim Lennon

On Monday night East Granby Vol. Fire Department went to Marks Auto Yard for round 2 of extrication drill night. This week crews objective was to arrive at a 3 car accident with entrapment and go straight to work and be critiqued by ranking officers. Rescue 808 and Engine 208 arrived to find a 3 car accident with a car T-Boned up against a cylinder block with another car on top. Crews went right to work stabilizing one car and other crews starting extricating-multiple patients. Crews worked in heavy rain conditions throughout the operation. Ct air national guard was also on scene assisting. After crews removed the patients the cars were pulled apart and ready for the tow trucks. To finish the night, crews battled a fully involved car fire at marks as a part of drill night. East Granby Vol. Fire Department

Monday night East Granby Ct firefighters under the direction of Craig Moran went through air bags, how they operate, what they can and cannot do, how to connect them. Crews also learned about cribbing and the importance of properly setting it up. Crews also leaned teamwork is a huge key with air bags and cribbing placement. East Granby Vol. Fire Department
