I was able to put my Navy culinary skills to work this morning at the Salvation Army church in my neighborhood. Nita and I made PB and J sandwiches for their food outreach to the homeless and senior living centers. The hairnet is my favorite part! Carlos Souza and his team of volunteers cranked out over 500 sandwiches in just over an hour. If you want to volunteer contact them or PM me and I can direct you! They’re doing great work in our community!

The decisive election for three positions in Lane County Commissioner board is May 19th! We are tax saturated and I will continue to say “no” to money out of your pocket! I’m a businessman standing sound fiscal principles and working to bring real revenue from our natural resources back to the county. And to the church…get out and vote!

Sat down with KVAL’s Gabrielle Bowman for an interview about the issues pertaining to the upcoming election for County Commissioner and why I’m running again. The County needs a continuing strong leader who’s willing to ask critical questions and make tough decisions while holding the organization accountable when they try and violate meetings laws and constitutional provisions against the people.
I’m not your “go along to get along” elected commissioner. I’m your voice. I treat tax dollars like they’re my own (because I too, am a tax payer) and our government must run like a business to gain maximum return on all of our investments of money, time and effort. Give me your vote and you’ll continue get my all. LOVEALL FOR ALL.

Be a pillar.
Pillars are those who carry the weight of heaven and are able to transfer its weight to earth.
I’m saddened there’s been a third attempt on the Presidents life. This hatred toward a man and his family duly elected by the American people is against every pillar of who we are as a nation. We’ve lived through the good and the bad leaders and have continued to prevailed as a nation by who we are and what we believe. This isn’t it.
“The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭MSG‬‬

I spoke at today’s ribbon cutting welcoming the Salvation Army to the neighborhood and to the great community of Springfield. Their new remodel of the former Northwood Christian Church site will bring hope through service and will bring aid to anyone and everyone they encounter. One of the directors said, “We can no longer be the Salvation Army brand of the past, we must be what God needs us to be in today’s world.”
They have hundreds of volunteers, fill the needs of marginalized students, supply Christmas toys and put out over 1000 peanut butter and jelly lunches together each week and distribute to the homeless and needy.
This was a church where Nita and I raised our kids, taught Bible classes, went on countless mission trips, served as a leader for 16 years and were key members of the multiple building expansions. The Northwood members continue to support from their new location our growing food bank in Uganda which now serves over 200 widows and orphans each month.
These kinds of partnerships change lives, take the burden off government agencies and do so with love, purpose and nimbleness. Congratulations to Carlos and all of the staff and volunteers!
