Another day, another recall. In Trump land, washing your hands is no longer safe.

Intercon Chemical has recalled 2,696 cases of six foaming hand soaps distributed through 15 states.

The affected products include Intercon, Clearly Better, Summit 150, Vestis and two Laura Lynn varieties.

Two products may contain five species of Pseudomonas and Serratia; the remaining four were recalled for potential bacterial contamination.

Those organisms can cause pneumonia, urinary tract infections, blood infections and other complications, especially for people with weakened immune systems or broken skin.

The FDA classified it as a Class II recall last week, meaning exposure could cause temporary or medically reversible harm, while the probability of severe consequences is considered remote.

Consumers should check the exact lot codes and best-by dates, stop using affected bottles and contact a medical professional if symptoms develop.

The contamination began with the manufacturer. The larger public-health problem belongs to an administration that has spent the past year hollowing out the workforce responsible for catching hazards and warning us quickly.

Kennedy’s HHS announced plans to eliminate roughly 3,500 FDA positions.

Those cuts swept up laboratory scientists, inspection-support staff and communications specialists — the people who help testing, enforcement and recall notices function.

Public health depends on competence: trained scientists, functioning laboratories, routine inspections, clear alerts and enough staff to do the work before preventable harm reaches somebody’s bathroom sink.

Kennedy keeps treating that infrastructure like bureaucratic clutter while selling “wellness” as a personal brand.
