Watching the play "Our Town" this afternoon at the Hoogland Center for the Arts was a deeply moving experience. The last performace of a 3 day run did not disappoint. The play focused on the everyday lives of ordinary people and their relationships with one another and, at the same time, it has you reflecting on the meaning and purpose of life. Most of that reflection was guided by actress, Nicole Florence, who played the "stage manager" & narrator in the play. There were outstanding performances by all and Leigh Steiner masterfully directed the performance to make us think we lived in Grover's Corner, New Hampshire. Overall, watching "Our Town" for the first time was a memorable (and emotional) experience that will have me reflecting on the meaning of life for a long time. If you ever have an opportunity to see this play in the future it is sure to give you a more heartfelt perspective on life and relationships. Walking the halls at SHS for the first time in almost 40 years.

Renowned law professor Tracey Meares inducted into Springfield High Hall of Fame Noted Yale law professor and policing expert Tracey Meares was inducted into the Springfield High School Hall of Fame Thursday.

For Meares, anticipation replaces trepidation in trip back to Springfield Tracey Meares, a Yale Law School scholar and an expert on urban policing, will return to Springfield, Ill., to be inducted into the SHS Hall of Fame.

The Legacy of Dr King lives on in speeches and words but most of all in his actions in the moments that mattered. We all encounter these moments where we are faced with choices to say or do something or to not speak up and do nothing.
To celebrate Dr Kings legacy is to recognize those moments and make them count for those disenfranchised, for those impoverished, for those of color . Who are you choosing to be in those moments ? What will your legacy be?
Our prayers are with the Earl Móore Jr family during this time where these moments tragically cost him his dignity and his life
