Whatever Productions Wednesday - On May 27, 1982, Ozzy Osbourne performed at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, during his Diary of a Madman tour. Because legendary guitarist Randy Rhoads had tragically passed away in a plane crash two months earlier on March 19, Ozzy was touring with a revised band lineup.
The musicians who played in Ozzy's band that night were: Brad Gillis – Lead guitar (borrowed from Night Ranger to fill in after Randy Rhoads' passing), Rudy Sarzo – Bass, Tommy Aldridge – Drums, Don Airey – Keyboards. The opening act for the concert was: UFO – The English hard rock band served as the main support act for this leg of the tour.
