People remember the wins, but they rarely see what happened before them.

In my latest blog, I share four personal experiences that shaped my career in sports creative, filmmaking, and leadership, along with the lessons each one taught me.

If youโ€™ve ever been underestimated, overlooked, or told your goals were unrealistic, I hope this resonates and encourages you to keep going! Let these experiences fuel you!โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ

Already enjoying my time filming Men's Basketball practices!

Sometimes these quick reels are super satisfying because they are flashes of action and less than 30 seconds to keep our viewers engaged.

Simple, fun, and effective.โœ…

Eight months. Countless applications. Multiple interviews. Silence, surprises, setbacks, and breakthroughs. This job hunt reshaped me.

My creative journey took me through some of the biggest brands in college athletics and even a professional team.

Every interview taught me something new about storytelling, leadership, and resilience.

Every website view reminded me that someone out there was paying attention.

Every โ€œnoโ€ pushed me toward the right โ€œyes.โ€

Holding out for the right fit was terrifying, but stepping into this role has already brought a sense of peace, alignment, and excitement I canโ€™t fully describe.

This industry is so competitive, unpredictable, and full of unseen decisions, but itโ€™s also full of people who believe in you, encourage you, and open doors at the exact moment you need them!

If youโ€™re a creative, a storyteller, or someone navigating your own job search, keep going.

Your work is being seen.

Your name is being shared.

Yesterday marked the anniversary of April 19, 1968, when an F4 tornado tore through my hometown of Greenwood Arkansas in just four minutes.

With winds reaching up to 200 mph, it destroyed homes, businesses, and landmarks, wiping out nearly 25% of the town, taking lives, and injuring hundreds.

In 2018, I was asked to help tell that story.

Survivors sat down and shared what they experienced that day, each interview over 20 minutes long, memories that have stayed with them for decades.

I pieced those voices together to create one complete story.

This project was more than just a video.

It was about documenting history, preserving stories many people have never heard, and creating something that families can hold onto so this moment and the people affected by it, are never forgotten.

Itโ€™s also one of the first times I understood the true impact storytelling can haveโ€ฆ and itโ€™s something Iโ€™ve carried with me ever since.
