Talking consent with kids is hard, modeling consent with kids is even harder. Don't be afraid to model the complexity of consent when talking with kids.
The book Welcome to Consent: How to Say No, When to Say Yes, and How to Be the Boss of Your Body By Yumi Stynes and Dr. Melissa Kang, Illustrated by Jenny Latham is a great place to start tweens and teens. Also yourself, if you need a refresher or a first go of it all.

Today we read The Misadventures of Sweetie Pie by Chris Van Allsburg. It has been enjoyed this week around here, as a friend has hamsters and because it features a squirrel. (We REALLY like squirrels right now.)
This book has been a major favorite around here this week. We have read it every day.
Spoiler: I think we really love that the ghost is scared and we already know that whatever the ghost is scared of is SUPER SILLY.
