When I was a little girl, my Mom’s dad had a garden and I remember him growing radishes. Mom looked confused when I said that and said she didn’t think my memory was correct because she didn’t think they grew radishes. She may be right and I could be totally wrong, but I have always tried growing them. I have never been successful until this year. I was weeding the garden earlier and thought carrots were already coming up but the leaves didn’t look like carrots. Imagine my surprise when I realized they were radishes. Not sure if we like radishes but we are going to try them in a salad. Salad is definitely on the menu this week.

Strawberry jam is done. Can’t wait for Mark to get done mowing the yard so he can try it. The dings of the can are my favorite part. 🍓🍓🍓

Today I planted some carrots, onions, radishes, beets and cucumbers but I failed to take any pics. Instead here are pictures from my first loaf of sour dough bread made with my sourdough starter Faith. Not bad for my first loaf if I do say so myself.

Meet Faith. I finally got her started after 3 weeks of feeding her. Things that seemed to help that I did differently was sing George Michael’s Faith to her. Oh and a sourdough warmer to keep her warm. But I really think it was my singing. When she finally came alive we had a dance session at camp. Ready for this next journey!🍞🥖💃🏼🪩

Today I tended to the chickens and then I started building two raised beds. Got them almost done and realized they shorted me some nuts. Tomorrow I will have to make a trip to Lowe’s. What a beautiful weekend. I got so much done outside.

Got the raised beds topped with compost. What a beautiful hot day! Barbara Sue got in trouble twice for digging up my asparagus.
