Did you know many commercial insurance carriers offer significant discounts for businesses that have an Emergency Mitigation Plan in place? What is an EMP you ask? It's a formal written procedure for limiting damage and time of response during a loss incident. Several companies offer a free service to help your business develop a plan for what to do in case of an unfortunate incident like a busted pipe, fire, weather related mishap, etc. Who are the key holders? Who is on call and how do we contact them? Where is the emergency water shut off valve? How do we access the mechanical room? What mitigation company do we call? Accidents happen... but don't let an "accident" be caused by careless or avoidable actions like phone use, eating, drinking or other forms of distractions while driving. We hope you get where you're headed safely!

Temps are dropping tonight and throughout the weekend. Please be mindful of waterlines, pets and other hazards that can be caused by prolonged exposure to cold temperatures.

Drip faucets and occasionally flush commodes, especially those located on exterior walls to keep pipes from freezing. Open cabinets to allow warm air access. Draw curtains and blinds to help insulate windows and doors. Know where you water shut-off is incase of frozen or busted pipes.
