Married Up

Today we celebrate 25 years of marriage!

Our greatest blessing in this life is each other. Clear eyed, that doesn't always make it easy. But, thankfully, it has not been just the two of us in this marriage! We thank God for being the foundational strength and the "third-strand" that has sustained us through trying times. Here's to the next 25 years together!

"Though one might be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not easily broken" (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

If we paid as much time on…

1. Noticing the things our spouse does RIGHT
2. Thanking them for those things

…as we do on even silent complaints in our mind…
Ooooo… the marriage quality level increase for all! 😍

Usually the shift that can change everything in your relationship is small, simple and right there under your nose. The trick is… when you're heated you're not thinking clearly anymore and you're blind or resistant to what could be the cure.

This is why we're here with simple learning in your every day - even when things are going great - because that's when you can digest and bank the new thought processes and tools you need NEXT time you're in a fight! 😉

So thankful for all the places God has brought us over the last few years to minister to marriages! Sometimes it's surreal... I decided to put recent locations on a map and see what it looked like! 👀

I remember almost 20 years ago, on a missions visit with World Vision to the Dominican Republic, we met a lady who prayed over us and said: "I see you coming and going on airplanes…" ✈️✈️✈️

Well, we're doing a bunch of that these days! 🤪 Lord, make us useful in your kingdom. May marriages be strengthened and encouraged and legacies established, in Jesus name!

There is something so special about serving married couples by helping them rediscover the most valuable earthly thing God has given them.

So often the countenances and body language walking OUT of the room at the end of the evening are SO different from when they walked ! More touching… More smiling… Warmer… What a gift to be a part of that refreshment!
