We are not here to bag on any church or their priorities. But it's worth pointing out that stats show that almost 3/4 of churches are missing an important opportunity to invest in the foundation of the families they minister to - which is the marriages.
The health of the husband and wife relationship is the God-ordained starting place of all community. Strong marriages build strong families, which build strong churches which build strong communities.
Doing one marriage event a year is akin to only running VBS for kids all year and skipping Sunday school or kids church from week to week. (Okay, now I know I have stepped on some toes) But it’s worth considering that more is needed. 💔
Stats show marriages are bleeding out between the annual bandage-change and people need help navigating the onslaught of attack their marriage relationship is under. We can do better. Most couples on average suffer in silence for 6 years before the bleeding gets so bad that they’re on life support and they call 911. It doesn’t have to be this way.

Incredible weekend ministering to couples who got to leave their kiddos behind and invest in each other at a beautiful setting on the beach! This team is awesome- they run a non profit designed to aid mothers of young children, offering them help in many practical ways. We were honored to be a part of it all.

Why did YOU get married?
Could it be that you were married for MORE than just your own personal benefit or gain?
Maybe God wanted to do something inside of you using the challenges of being married. Maybe God wanted to use your marriage on mission for others as well.

Not flattering, but kinda hilarious. 😆 Both of us whipping our heads back in hysterics in sync. When we say we have fun at our events, we mean it!! Cause WE DO TOO! 😆
We can’t blame our spouse for all our problems, nor can we fix all of theirs. At some point we each need to take ownership of our own issues and bring them to Father God for healing. When you do that you’ll be giving your spouse one of the best gifts you can give them - a healthy version of you! ❤️

Have you ever thought to yourself "they are looking GOOD today" or thought "I am so thankful for them" but the thought stayed in your mind and didn't make it out of your mouth?
I bet that happens all the time - and you know what, they need to HEAR YOU SAY those little thoughts!
The things that make happy marriages happy are often just the LITTLEST THINGS like expressing gratitude or a flirty look. The tiny thoughts you're forgetting to voice might be the fuel they need today!

Your best, most sure, and effective way to improve your relationship with your spouse is to improve your relationship with your Heavenly Father.

You can only decide for you, so begin again with a renewed intimacy with your father and see the benefits it will produce!
