Guess what? For my July sewing camp kids DO NOT need to have completed my Intro to Sewing course to join!!

THAT’S RIGHT! My July camp will be for ANY kid ages 8 and older!

Have your kids spread the word to their friends today because registration will open up on June 15th! That is only a couple days away!

For the July sewing project kids will get the chance to make a treasure map or fantasy map! How fun is that?

Sewing for this project is OPTIONAL which is why kids who do not know how to sew can sign up.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR THE MAXI SKIRT!

I made some adjustments to the yardage for the maxi skirt! The sign up reflects the change, but I will also list it here:
(not all sizes were affected, but please double check yardage before you buy!!)

Measure around the widest part of the hips (the widest part is usually the middle of the t**h - if between sizes then round up).

28" = 2 1/4yards
31" = 2 1/4 yards
34" = 2 3/4 yards
36" = 3 1/4 yards
38" = 3 3/4 yards

Other materials:
thread
1 inch elastic - enough to fit comfortably around the waist - if uncertain get 1 yard.

Lightweight cottons, linens or rayons. Avoid anything thick, stretchy, velvety or sheer. Pre wash all fabric.
Measure around the widest part of the hips (the widest part is usually the middle of the t**h).

ATTENTION!! For those of you who would like their child to do the June sewing camp and would like me to purchase their child's materials for either the maxi skirt or overnight tote, please sign up before the end of next week!!!

If you have already signed up and paid for materials then you do not need to worry about this! (And thank you for registering early!)

I will not be purchasing materials after June 19th. That is next Friday - a week from tomorrow.

If you register for the summer camp after June 19th I will not be able to provide materials for your kiddo.

AGAIN: I will not be able to purchase materials for the summer camp projects after JUNE 19th. This is for BOTH the June 22nd week camp AND the 29th week camp.

More fabulous caddy’s now exist because of these kids’ hard work! Sewing that vinyl was NOT fun! But the kids did a fantastic job! Do they sometimes get frustrated? Do they occasionally want to throw the sewing machine in the trash can? Yes! But then they push through and end up with more than just a finished project - they have a sense of true accomplishment and a greater confidence in their abilities!

My May classes were so much fun as I helped the kiddos make a caddy for Father’s Day, or an Art Caddy for themselves! I love to see their creativity at work!

Sorry I’ve been absent for a while! Got busy preparing for our trip to CA! Now I’m here in sunny Southern California defending my bag of snacks from these pesky seagulls!

My sewing students finished our May project with some stunning caddy’s! These kiddos did an amazing job! I’ve got more pictures coming but here are a few for you today…

I am offering the kids a few options this year: They can do the project of the month (this month they can choose between a skirt or a bag), they can bring their own project (be sure it’s something within their skill level), they can do one of our previous projects from the past school year, or they can just come and free sew (pick from my stash of small projects, or come up with creations of their own).
