Dear Friends and Supporters,

I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support during my Springboro school board campaign. I'm thankful for the opportunity to represent our community.

While the results didn't go our way, I congratulate the elected board members and trust they'll do great things.

I'm not deterred. I'll keep advocating for quality education and staying involved in our community.

Got to experience the home ec facilities today while helping with the teacher lunch from Families of SHS. Such a great opportunity to have for our students from the Warren County Career Center! Thanks for letting us take over a few ovens for the morning.

🎃 Remember to be kind this Halloween 🎃

As trick-or-treaters come to your door, remember:
🧛‍♂️ That child that doesn't say `Trick or Treat` may have a different way to communicate
🦸‍♂️ Be kind to the adult in a Superman costume
👻 Some kids have social anxiety, so don't force a thank you
🧙 Be inclusive to all by providing non food items (Teal Pumpkin Project)
🤡 Kids come in all varieties, don't make fun of them
🥷 Sensory differences may cause some to not be able to wear a costume

In one evening, with one interaction, you can make or break a child's night. Although we may think some of these behaviors are rude, take a minute to consider it is because of an invisible disability.

As a parent, I have not had direct interactions with the gifted program, however I do know it is essential to continue to support and help our gifted students. As I have been involved in the school system over the last few years, I have heard many good things, as well as frustrations about the gifted program. I want to support our teachers and students in every way possible. The program does cost our district a substantial amount to run, and numerous parents have expressed concerns that the current program has just become "more work" for the students and does not actually allow them to grow and explore their abilities and interests. I want to make sure that the program is reevaluated as a whole so it is effective and inclusive, and avoids overwhelming students with excessive work.
